Do you enjoy Rugby League?

if the tigers were winning the mood on this forum would be completely different,of course.

i used to tape games and watch the replays because it was good to watch.Blokes like benji,the mcguiness boys and tim brasher were great to watch and the game allowed them to do creative things.

i love watching local products like woods ,farrah and lawrence do well and in time moses and brookes will shine,hopefully.

the over scrutinisation by video refs and review panels has cruelled the game as a game..Power brokers in league demanded we have video refs and now we have them.Goody!

The phooey they go on with when a player has or has not forced the ball is mind numbing.Did the defenders try so hard to stop the ball being forced 20 years ago.i dont think so.the referee ruled and got on with it.people might have carried on,but that was part of the game.

so i enjoy watching a tigers win,but the game as a product is a lesser one than in previous times,In my opinion.

Scrums are a laugh anyway , they put Centres in scrums , Hooker at lock , 2nd Rowers and a Prop in the front 3 . Whoever gets to scrum 1st regardless of the position will pack it :laughing: , it's a joke.

P.S you coming in our Soccer Comps Tigermama starting in August ? trust me you don't need to know anything , just ask Geo who won it and knew Squat :laughing: , it's a great laugh during the Tigers off Season .

I liked what Paul Kent said last night he said scrap out the video Ref System altogether and get Refs to make decisions there and then . He reckons a review System like the Cricket if you get a Try where the Ref says No Try and the Captain speaks to his team Mate and he says to his Captain " i've grounded the ball…...... Challenge it "
if you get the Challenge right you keep it , if you get it wrong you lose it like the Cricket . It would waste so much time going to video Ref . A couple of weeks ago when Cowboys played the Broncos i added up 9 minutes worth in total going to the Video Ref.
Going to the Video Ref is boring the game .

The NRL is run by TV executives. Scrums are deliberate time-wasters to allow for the all important TV advertisement

There are a lot of things i could complain about but this one is the thing turning me off the most. Its not just a Tigers thing its in most games.

Timeline wise the lack of interest dates back to the formation of the new independent commission and the removal of David Gallop. It's no longer a level playing field.

so get back gallop who did nothing for the NRL, meanwhile this new commission has literally doubled revenue in a few years, set aside hundreds of millions in a future fund, secured a billion dollars for rectangle stadia in sydney and is effectively negotiating a $2 billion TV deal for 2018

and gallop has done what for the a league??? they were 'coming in leaps and bounds' well before he got there, he's just continuing that trend. good on him for not screwing it up

The old money argument for propping up ones creadability. Are you serious? Are they looking at another stadium? Really? FFS. Can't see the point of a new billion dollar stadium that nobody goes to. How about pouring it into growing the game at grass routes (Over here as well) or upgrading traditional grounds? People I'm sure would go. Get rid of Monday night games….oh man, I could go on....
Pretty sure Gus had an axe to grind with Gallop and now he's heading down the same path again with our current fearless leader.
Do I enjoy League? I do, but I really don't like the predictability of play and the constant stoppages. I want less times for a scrum to pack, real scrum contests ala union, one ref, only 1 chance to challenge a try per half, less interchange and that stupid obstruction rule gone. Bring back the old Sheppard rule.
