Driving to the game

Hi all,

I am very keen to get to the game on Friday night but would prefer to drive in.

I want to avoid all the traffic kaos in and out of the SFS grass car park areas, does anyone know of any decent car park spots or areas around the SFS?

Happy to walk a few blocks no problems

Cheers

Probably the Girls High across the major road. Not too far to walk. Street parking will be a pain as you can pretty much guarantee they will enact special event clearways

thanks for the heads up smeghead

wonder if there are chartered buses from circular quay or town hall going straight to the SFS?

They have buses from Central station out the back - driving in the city is a nightmare at any time let alone during events plus it means you can't have a few drinks etc so not sure why you would want to but if you have to park somewhere and then make your way to central for the special even buses

Plus on the walk back to Central there is a Harry's Cafe De Wheels near the Capitol Theatre. Thats always a handy stop

Yeah the buses run regularly from Central to the SFS. You can get there early and pay to park on the ovals opposite the ground, but make sure you have more than 1 person in the car the more you have in the car the cheaper it is too park. Get there early and you can park nearer to the exit gates as well, which will make it easier to get out as well.

I park at fox studios car park.

I get their early (about 5.30pm) usually heaps of spots their, Not sure what it is like after that time.

It is a flat $20 dollars and you must pay before you go to the game.

Some times it is hard to get out of their maybe 20 Mins waiting.

why anyone would drive to the game on a friday night is beyond me.

train and bus to central station is DEFINITELY the way to go

The High School is on Cleveland Street - LHS, just after crossing South Dowling Street - and before Anzac Parade. Not sure what direction you want to come from, though. And be very careful of the speed camera outside the school. It is deadly…

i was working at UNSW and was going to walk but now i've been moved to homebush :s there is only one street with out area zone parking, i forget what its called, but its the main one. a lot of the streets around the unsw are half zoned for area and half free for out of towners.

Hi All

I work for STA and I can tell you that Public Transport is the best way to get to Moore Park. Traffic is usually horrendus in that area on a Friday peak Hour and this is compounded by this BIG game!

I can let you know that Special Event Clearways are in place on Friday, so there will be very limited on street parking, if you find some it will more than likley be metered. Parking at Moore Pk is $15 for 4 or more or $20 for 3 or less passengers.

Catch Public transport to the venue. Buses leave regularly from Chalmers Street frequenly from 17:00 until approx 19:35\. After the Game buses leave from Stand A at the Bus Station from 21:00 until 22:30.

If you are travelling bus train and want to get this bus, remember to by a MOORE PARK LINK ticket at your train station, this will save you time from not having to buy your ticket from that Sydney Buses Caravan at Chalmers Street and will allow you to get on the bus quicker. Please note that on these Route 1 buses, Pensioner Excursion, My Zone tickets are not excepted, and if you do have these tickets you should get a normal bus from Eddy Ave, or purchase a special event ticket from the friendly caravan staff at Chalmers Street. I will more than likley be there to say G'day!

Yeah Park at the Sydney Girls High School across the road from the Ground. Much eaiser to get in and out. Entrance is off Cleveland St

yep…train and bus the best option for the expected full house

friday night games can get crazy with parking..
unless you plan on leaving early ( not going to happen )
you will need to wait at least 40 minutes before you can drive away

Thanks so much for informative replies guys.

With Sydney Girls High School, is parking in the actual school with a fee in involved?

Any ideas as to what time it opens?
I'm guessing this is available specifically for events/footy matches at the SFS.

Thanks again

Because there is no train line out to The Hills so we have no option but to drive
