Raiders also have another excellent fullback coming through. If they keep Massey they may be able to buy another high profile player we the money they save on the cap

Comparing Massey to Dugan That's a bit rich . Like comparing Moltzen to Slater . I hope the good sources are right but unless he has a really bad attitude i just can't see Raiders letting him go early . Hope my words taste far better if he signs with us .

I didn't actually didn't compare them. Purely stating that Massey is a very good prospect. Do you not agree?

Far,far to early to call as of yet GTT . Tedesco looks the goods as well and we don't even need to pay him some outrageous amount of money for him that you will for Massey . If we are going to get a new fullback unless he is an established fullback we may as of well put the time and effort into Tedesco .makes perfectly good sense doesn't it ??

Not saying I would buy Massey, more that the Raiders may want to let Dugan go and keep Massey to free up money under the cap.

My take on Dugan is he is an egotistical calculating footballer who is in it for what he can get - great talent no heart huge ego - wouldn't put all this past him and his and manager to drive his price throught the roof.

Mate, I can guarantee Raiders Management do not want to see Dugan leave the club. They currently are in talks about a contract extension. Dugan is considered our best player, along with Campese and we have plans to build a big part of our possible success in the future around him. We "cannot easily cover the loss of him". Though Massey is a good, solid fullback, he is no Josh Dugan.

This year has been very unfortunate for Duges, but we saw in 2009 and 2010, that if he can have a full pre-season, he can be one of the best fullbacks in the game.

Joey, do you understand how the Salary Cap works? Firstly, why would Dugan have any interest in discussing an extension considering he is supposedly the next best thing? The only reason he re-signed last year is because the Raiders threw everything at him as the talks with the Roosters were real. They panicked, and now with a few other contracts which need increasing, they will be under major pressure with the Cap. Since the beginning of 2011, Williams, that 20's Backrower & Massey have come on and I'd say the Raiders are prepared to cut their losses with Dugan, as he, Lars, Campese & Harrison are some big dollars sitting on the sideline.

I'd say Dugan will be wearing a new jumper in 2012!

A current Tigers player told me today that he believed we are certain to get Dugan and that Moltz would likely end up at the Dragons. also said all disharmony had been sorted and the only obstacle now was getting over injuries. P.S He thinks Benji will play. And most of BRET had been told to look elsewhere except Mullaney,Hyland and Roqica.

I hope this is true, that would make all this trouble in the last 2 months worth it.

A former first grade player told my mum that Terry Lamb would be a great coach.

So you're telling me the Raiders would be willing and happy to let their best player leave the club? That would be the BIGGEST management blunder in the history of the NRL.

And you've got a source for your theory surrounding "Raiders panicking"? I am pretty sure we would have a plan installed for future negotiations, to lock in our best players rather than hope for the best.

And why'd he have an interest discussing a contract extension? Ask him.

Well, in regards to thier best player, thats in your head! Dugan might be in the top 5, but he is far from thier best…

Management take risks everyday in relation to contract negociations.... It might be too long ago to remember, but do you remember that guy you signed from the UK... Matt Orford???

If you were SOOOOOO confident that Dug's is staying at the Raiders, you wouldnt be on here sniffing around like a school boy at the Victoria Secrets show.

Don't underestimate Don Furner's strength in recruiting and retention. In the past 4 years he has had an unbelievable record of re-signing and signing our best players, while fending off interest from other clubs. eg. Carney, Dugan, Vidot, Learoyd-Lahrs, Harrison, Ferguson, Tilse, Picker and Campese.

As for Matt Orford that unfortunately was a risk we had to take. We had lost Campese and had to make a play at an experienced campaigner. Luckily for us McCrone and Williams have really stepped up. I wouldn't mind betting that we release Orford at the end of the year, and that further frees up to 300k.

Campese and Dugan for the Raiders = Marshall and Farah for the Tigers.

Moltzen will make a great water boy for the Dragons…

Carney? Didn't he leave for the Roosters? And yeah I'm talking Justin not Todd. And I'm not sure there is a big queue to sign guys like Vidot and Picker. Anyway it's not going to matter if Don Furner can sell ice to Eskimos, at some point the cap bites and you either lose promising juniors like Low or you lose guys on good coin. Sure he's under contract - so was Bryce Gibbs - but I'm sure even you don't know what the Raider's plans are for 2012 and beyond.

Don't forget Boyd is leaving so Me so Hornby will either go to FB opening up halfback or Steve Price will pull a Sheens and play Timbo at the back.

I was talking about Todd.

The players I mentioned all had interested elsewhere- hence why I said "while fending off interest from other clubs".
