"I dunno, everything else about that club and its supporter base resonates strongly with his image"

nice, i recall thinking the same about raiders fans when monaghan courted his dog

Well, we can finally put the Dugan rumours to bed. Canberra came out in the papers today and stated in no uncertain terms that Dugan will not be released from his contract - end of story unfortunately - I wondering who the Tigers have in mind for FB next year…...I don't think the Marshall to FB rumour will eventuate, maybe that NYC FB Tedesco?? Who knows, but it won't be Dugan and I doubt it'll be Marshall....

>
CANBERRA Raiders chief executive Don Furner has slammed the door on Wests Tigers or any other club poaching NSW Origin debutant Josh Dugan next season.
>
The Tigers have been repeatedly linked in the past fortnight to making a play to lure Dugan for next year.
>
But both clubs are adamant it is no chance of happening.
>
The departures of Tigers fullback Wade McKinnon and utility Tim Moltzen have intensified the speculation but Furner reiterated Dugan is signed to the Raiders for next year."They'd be wasting their breath if they are trying to talk to him," Furner said.
>
"There is no chance in the world we'll be releasing him ahead of next season. Josh has got a contract with us until the end of next year and that's the end of it."
>
Dugan made his State of Origin debut for the Blues in May before an ankle injury ruined his hopes of featuring in the rest of the series.
\
\
\
The Raiders fullback was again absent last night against the Sharks but is considered a possibility to return against Melbourne next Sunday.
>
Off contract at the end of next season, Dugan is guaranteed to become one of the most in-demand players on the market. The Sydney Roosters and St George Illawarra are already believed to be targeting him.
>
The Green Machine are confident of announcing a number of contract extensions over the next month, headed by rising stars Shaun Fensom, Blake Ferguson and Jarrod Croker.
>
In a major coup for the club, emerging backrower Fensom is expected to announce as early as tomorrow he will be remaining in the national capital until the end of 2014.
>
"We're not recruiting at the moment because we're really happy with the emerging talent we've got coming through the club. So for us it's all about retention," Furner said.
>
Wests Tigers chief executive Stephen Humphreys said he was frustrated with the continued speculation linking his club with Dugan.
>
"We've not spoken to anyone about Dugan and he's under contract," he said.

.

Maybe that why they got upset when Moltzen signed with the dragons, they just found out they were no chance for Dugan and lost Moltzen at the same time????. Now talking about Benji at no1, they have lost the plot big time

No one (Raiders admin, Tigers admin) has mentioned the possibility of Dugan coming here in 2013, when he is in fact off contract.

Hence the talks & rumour mill-also no one is "lying" when stating that talks for 2012 have not occurred.

hey guys. been a hectic week at work. my mate from canberra did get back to me.

dugan isn't leaving YET.

vidot on the other hand…........

Not at all worried re not getting Dugan (as nice is the thought) and to be perfectly honest there are great options in current first grade squad for FB next year… If Lote did move back that would be exciting, if not, would feel very comfy with brown at FB, his hands have improved, he has good late footwork at line which would be great in broken play, and he has size and runs hard unlike wade... With the contract upgrades to top 20s players and Blair arriving I think it's exciting, but this year is alive we will make finals! Ps, I love that sheens is our coach and wouldn't swap him, a lot more goes into selections then ppl think, he is a wise leader!

Welcome and Well said TigerLogic.

It is easy to trash someone from behind a keyboard.

Whilst not perfect Sheens is a great mentor and does not hide away from the hard decisions.

Lots think they know best and dont really understand that there is tons happening behind the scenes and on a personal level that more than a handful of people are privy too.

Back on topic though - I really hope we convince Duggan that this is the club for him.

Agreed, well put! Again, would love Dugan but think the door may be closed based on wot Canberra officials say.. Cheers for the welcome

I think we can say with confidence that Dugan will be staying at the Raiders and will likely move to the Roosters in 2013 to replace Mini.

Lote will be a great full back and Vidot to replace him on the wing.

Providing vidot develops as I strongly believe he will under sheens then that could be a good move for the future

Vidot > Reddy..

Young gun (21 years of age) with a great build & pace.. He will score plenty of tries if he comes to West Tigers. Would love to have him.

CANBERRA chief executive Don Furner is so desperate to keep fullback Josh Dugan that he is willing to extend his contract on a year-by-year basis.

Furner said negotiations with Dugan had stalled as the club closed in on deals with Blake Ferguson and Jarrod Croker, which he hopes to have locked away this week.

"We're happy to do two years, three years, or if he just wanted to go year by year," Furner said as he waits on Dugan's management to signal the 21-year-old is ready to talk. "He's a priority."

Short Article with no name attributed in the DT.

Hopefully this leaves the door slightly open for the Tigers.

It says Marshall may be inline for a move to fullback…..then immediately says we are on the verge of signing Dugan for 2013.

haha

This will be awesome if true. Dugan at fullback and leave benji at 5/8 and if Lui no good miller would be ready by then with a lot more games under his belt.

That would be Marquee # 4

Ellis
Lote
Blair
Dugan

This would indeed cement the WT as one of the premier clubs in the NRL
