DWZ to arrive ASAP

@hodgo Not really, remember the Panfers only allowed DWZ to negotiate with other clubs but they have not actually given him a release so they hold all the cards. Ultimately they have to agree to a release so technically they can dictate the terms, petty, but nothing would suprise me with the panfers anymore.

I don't know, I think we all get a warm fuzzy feeling when there's talk of a player coming to us, but really, I'd be just as comfortable and even more happy to see Thommo given the fullbacks role on a permanent basis. If it doesn't work out come the end of this season, at least we've given it a real shot.

@rustycage absolutely agree, Rusty, hopefully even if he doesn’t work out at number 1 that all of this signing talk and supposed swaps will put a few of our key players on notice.

Drinkwater would be a better pick up than DWZ

Bellamy could turn a piece of sandstone into a diamond .....we've got a few pieces of sandstone

@happy_tiger ...tend to agree. DWZ is a sort of player that would be a very solid 1st grader and you need these sorts of players, but you don’t break the bank on them. On the other hand Drinkwater might be a player that can break a game open and we badly need a player with those skills

The more I think about it now, the more I am comfortable with the idea of DWZ staying at the Panthers to eat into their cap. DWZ is a talent, and has a lot of what we need but if we're going to be squeezed to take on the whole fare and we're not trading out some of our deadwood to accommodate him I'm not sure what we really gain other than Penrith having a mass of cap space to chase a player they want.

@Cultured_Bogan I think DWZ is a great player but not at any cost. We need to walk away if the deal doesn't make sense. If it's for Packer of Taylor, it makes sense. If it's for Mbye, i'm actually not sure that it does? I might be living in a fools paradise but Mbye's form the second half of last year was great. If (and it's a big if) he can recapture that form from last year then I think he'll turn out to be a decent buy for us. The issue is he's a long way from that form at the moment.

Mbye if anything wants to get back to Qld from what I've heard

We need Scott to speak to Quadja ....maybe he will put a good word in for us

@avocadoontoast Agreed - this is very much a sideways swap. I'd only want DWZ if he doesn't cost us much, definitely wingers money and not fullback money.

DWZ for mats, heard it here first

E.T/Reynolds will head off to ESL or as Dragons backups (only have 250k to spend this season on replacement for De Melon) and supposedly D directly asked Ivan 😂

If Ivan doesn’t accept the offer Madge is likely to prize dufty off Mary’s hands

No mistake, dufty will do a lot for our side.

@DieHarder that would be a bit of a shame re Matulino. I thought he'd been really strong this year. Will be a shame to see him moved on.
