The only thing I can say is his last game was probably the worst I've seen him play since his time in prison

The best way to appreciate him in my opinion is watch a game when you solely watch him and what he does Spud ....when you watch the back play and wonder who put the kicker on his ass .....helps slow down a side when they are on a roll ......telling defenders when to clear the ruck when the line is reset ......it doesn't show up on stats sheets ......barely registers with many supporters .....and the other bloke who is ably as good at our club at these things is Elijah Taylor

In my opinion the first things Woods would do when he home after a game would be check how many points he scored in Fantasy League or Supercoach in my opinion

He's a very good defender and I'm sure Maguire sees that, he just wants more from him and considering he's paid to be the forwards leader it's not an unreasonable expectation. I imagine he was challenged to get more involved in attack given the style that Maguire likes to play and has been unable or unwilling to do so, hence he's fallen out of favour. Same with ET. Twal and Matterson are setting the standards and guys on salaries like Packer should at the very least be striving to meet them even if they can't quite live up to them...ET is trying but Packer seems to have given up.

My other guess would be that someone else in the side is doing the exact things that Packer was trying to do or that yardage and workrate is a bigger yardstick for Madge

I don't have a beef either way ...Madge knows what he wants ......just some put the boot into Packer unnecessarily ......and Blair was exactly the same .....if both Ellis had played out his full contract and Dwyer not got a career ending injury I think many would view him much differently

That's what people used to say to defend Adam Blair when he was at the Tigers. He was crap as well.
Anyway, all these great things that Packer does that don't show up on a stats sheet have landed him in reggies.

The Sharks will be losing Gallen this year and their coach has publicly stated Prior is moving to lock forward. Woods would be highly unlikely to be released and he doesn’t fit the Madge style of front rower. The DWZ rumours are everywhere obviously Madge made him NZ Captain so he rates him.

We need a front rower even if we don’t release Packer. Paasi or George Burgess make sense but Cleary has left us with an average squad and no cap space. Packer, ET, Matulino, Reynolds contracts can do that. I wouldn’t be surprised if all 4 players don’t play first grade this year.

You are probably right he’s okay. But way off last 2 weeks. Copped a few head knocks but decent earlier in the season. I think we have seen His best has slowed down of late.

Packer can go and with more good pigs like Matterson then DWZ’s running games will take off, throw Liddle in !

I think DWZ is a better 1 than Mbye.
I also think Benji and jrey are better 6s than Mbye.

If that happens I see DWZ as fullback next year and Moses move to 6 after Benji goes.. Fans would go mad if he dropped Benji with the form he has shown this year. IF we still have Josh R next year he would be a great 14. Anyway not sure this will even happen but hope so.

DWZ is not a ball playing fullback and most coaches these days want a fullback who can get up in the line and ball play. Although we certainly need a big body with some speed and he ticks that box

So not even here and making demands about what position he should play. Isn’t that one of the reasons he is on the outer at Penrith, spitting the dummy because he is not fullback?

If that is the case case, it hardly seems like he will improve cohesion in the team. Give him a big miss.

Mbye’s kicking game is garbage as proven when in the halves at the dogs. Are we looking for another 700k per year player to offload with us paying a load of their salary?
