Electric bills

Timely fiscal and science based provision of electricity that benefits everyone.
I meant in practical terms. Not in political speak.
I realise some of us are like the Blues brothers, on a mission from God, saving the planet.
What I do know is that when the government increases costs to the little guy there’s a shift in wealth from the poor to the wealthy. People like Al Gore and Bill Clinton are increasing their wealth but who are the big players? Who are the owners of numerous wind turbines and why is the Australian taxpayer covering the cost of $1B to connect to the grid?

Last count China has 1700 coal power plants and are bringing online another 100 this year

Indian has around 1300 and have plans to build and 300 online in the next 5 years

What Australia has 2 or is it 3 and they are cutting one this year it's just crazy this green scam
This is only putting forth one side of an argument (and exaggerating it as well). Yes, China and India are by far the biggest polluters when it comes to fossil fuels. Yes, China and India are continuing to invest in Coal Power Stations. But:
China is also the world leader when it comes to solar. About half of the world's solar power is generated in China with several of the world's biggest solar farms found there, check out the Gonghe Talatan solar park as a reference. They are also right up there when it comes to wind.
China is investing in energy, 'clean' or not. They wouldn't be investing in solar and wind if it was not financially viable to do so.
Similarly India is ranked 4th in the world for energy produced by solar and have committed to significantly increasing this number. They are further investing in not just solar but again also wind and hydro (and coal). Like China they are investing in energy, both renewables and coal.
Australia has closer to 20 coal powered stations. What is being lost is the 3 in NSW slated to be decommissioned aren't because of a shift to renewables but because they have reached their life capacity. Their power production then obviously needs to be replaced and unfortunately yes, us tax payers will be funding that regardless of what the power source is. The question is do we replace it with new coal powered stations or renewables? Most projections suggest renewables are the cheaper option before you even start factoring in the CO2 emissions.

Timely fiscal and science based provision of electricity that benefits everyone is about as practical as you can describe the current reality of the transition to renewable technologies. If you care to argue that on facts, you are welcome to bring it.

As for "political speak", the "Blues Brothers" esque "green scam" comment which you questioned is pretty well text book, as is bringing in Gore and Clinton that are basically irrelevant to Australian electricity bills.

It was funny, especially because the sleepy man that he was impersonating has ruined so much of his nation in just a year, including electricity, both price and generation wise, whilst lining his and his enablers pockets at the expense of others.

$Billions from grift for that administration whilst adding $Trillions of debt for the nation's poor, at an increasingly horrific debt/GDP ratio. Meanwhile, our recent government's policies are expected to provide a cut in electricity prices, however minor, in the coming annual may announcement. Even free at times when renewable sources provide surpluses of generation, which will go with a couple of national budget ones in recent years.

That is not say that our nation's purse should not have long been getting a much bigger fill from OUR resources, but please look to recent decades of actual policy and voting records of all relevant individuals and parties on such issues. Actions speak louder than words, whether on a website or leaflets, and especially when spoken or in print on billionaires platforms.

Question for you mate. Do you accept that some of the coal power stations have reached their use by date? (I don't necessarily mean coal as a source but the stations themselves).
If yes, what source do you believe should be used to replace them and more importantly, Why?
Finally, how do you think that new power production will be replaced without seeing prices increase?

Good to see our electricity bills are soon to start falling, with Victoria recently announcing a 3% retail price cut from July 1st and NSW along with Queensland to release theirs in the coming days.

This is on the back of renewables generation providing more than 50% of power in the last quarter of 2025, as part of nearly 8 gigawatts of additional new capacity provided in less than 4 years since the 2022 election, with a loss of a single one.

Conversely, the previous 9 odd years only saw some 2 GW created whilst losing 4, which lead to huge price hikes that were only exacerbated by Russia's full invasion of their neighbour.

What does Russia have to do with Australia in this ?

That's an interesting video

What does Russia have to do with Australia in this ?

The explosion in resources prices when they fully invaded, particularly for gas, which was being used extensively at the time to make up for our generation shortfall.

Maybe go to your local petrol station and look at the price rises since America and Israel attacked Iran for a reminder.

Australia is the second biggest gas exporter in the the world Japan buys Australia gas cheaper than Australian's the government just doesn't care about us just there mining buddies

Petrol prices is a con loyds of London pulled insurance for tanks two days later the USA development fund pick up the insurance and shipping started again

The petrol prices we paid in Australia was purchased 6 weeks ago not the past week that's in 5 weeks from about now

It's just price gauging and the Australian government does not care

Maybe start supporting those that have fairly consistently wanted penalties and more of OUR resources money going into our coffers, not the ones cosplaying and/or meeting with Rinehart etcetera.

This has been happening on Albos watch he is a conman he doesn't care and people still want to vote for him crazy

Yes it has. However, he does care, and others policies, voting records, meetings and cosplaying remain fairly constant to this day.

We could have had a working half decent PRRT since 2012 without them. Anyway back to being happy that electricity prices are finally coming down.
