I was ebay just a little while ago and someone was selling an Illawarra PLAGUE, I felt like sending them a message that it's actually PLAQUE unless you can really buy a PLAGUE in the Illawarra.

Another one that drives me nuts is "Hence why" Hence MEANS why … you don't need to say it again!

My current cringe is the ad on TV for Australian Seniors Insurance Agency where the grey haired bloke says "I didn't have to take one of THEM blood tests or medical tests either"

Fair dinkum, those you idiot not them. Who the hell is responsible for letting this ad go to air? :brick:

Praise the Lord, just saw the ad & he no longer says **THEM**….. :mrgreen:

This works the other way, too, as in ….

You've got to admit though, English is a pretty screwed up language. How can it be that you add **in** to **correct**, it means the opposite of **correct**. But then when you add **in** to **flamable**, it still means **flamable**!

People who can't get their "i" and "e" around the right way… If I had a dollar for everytime I saw "recieve" instead of "receive"... and people who forget that we are in Australia and we use the British English language: humoUr, favoUrite, metRE, theatRE...

A few others that I have seen before... generally people who don't know when to repeat a consonant.

allready, tommorrow, ocur, unfortunatly, imature and my all time favourite;

DIFFERENTS! (instead of difference!) :smiley: Saw that on a Daily Tele blog so it doesn't at all surprise me.
