Who else have we got to take his spot whilst hes missing in origin, really? we dont really have a ready made hooker to replace him with.

George Ndaira. He is no Robbie Farah but is still a quality hooker.

Is Pat Politini almost back from injury yet?

He has been playing for several weeks now.

Chance for Farah to shine in City-Country

Robbie Farah will get every opportunity to steal the show in Friday's City-Country clash in Albury after incumbent NSW hooker Michael Ennis was ruled out due to injury.

The match was robbed of one of its biggest State of Origin selection duels after Ennis was ruled out of the Country side due to rib soreness, with Melbourne Storm utility Ryan Hinchcliffe called in to face City captain and No.9 Farah.

Blues coach Ricky Stuart has promised the match is a genuine trial for Origin spots, with hooker among several positions still up for grabs ahead of the May 16 naming of the team for Origin I.

While it's believed Bulldogs star Ennis will remain the front runner to retain the No.9 jersey, Farah hasn't given up hope of a recall after playing twice for the Blues in 2009.

"I'm ready. I never haven't been ready," Farah said on Tuesday.

"I'd love to play Origin and when you've had a taste of it and you don't get to play in it, it's obviously something that you want to get back.

"That desire has never left me."

"There's a big carrot there being dangled so it's an important game on Friday night.

"Hopefully a good game and a good win for City will lead to not just myself but a few other City guys hearing their name read out when the Origin side is picked."

Farah said Queensland's dominance in recent years meant he was even more hungry to force his way back into the side.

"Every year you're hungry to get in there and with Queensland winning the last five especially, you want to help get that shield back to NSW," Farah said.

"There's a new coach this year and it's going to have an influence on the side being picked and it'd be good to be a part of it."

As well as leaving the door slightly further open for Farah, Ennis' injury will allow Hinchcliffe a first taste of representative football.

Country needed a tough, durable replacement for Ennis and coach Laurie Daley believes he's found one.

"It's great to give Ryan an opportunity to come into the team, he's a very tough player and will be very handy for us," Daley said.

"He can do a similar job that Mick can do for us and I'm looking forward to getting him into camp."

Hinchcliffe, 26, a former Canberra Raider, will commence training with the Country squad in Albury on Wednesday, with City also bound for the southern NSW town.

Daley said it was sad to lose Ennis, a popular player amongst the Country group, but not worth the risk of playing him.

"We'd also be running the risk of him re-injuring it in the game and it's not the best for either him, the team or his club side," Daley said.

I agree with Spartan and the others that it will benefit ENNIS not playing against Robbie. Ennis has been told he will be the SOO hooker so why play against Robbie and get showed up?

Ennis is a cat of the highest order. I will be cheering for QLD if that grub gets picked for NSW.

What he really said to Hindmarsh is a disgrace.

I watched the NRL show on 1HD last night, Stuart was one of the panelists, he was talking about how the city/country game was a genuine trial, sorry, not convinced.

What have you heard Ennis said Bug?

And I hope too that the Dragons smash the bullfrogs… It'll increase the chance of ennis being seen as the dud he really is.

Yeah it's a big shame for Robbie that he can't play against him, I think Ricky has made up his mind already too.

There is a report in this week's RLW basically saying that the grub is going to be the NSW hooker. It also states that Robbie is third in line behind the grub & Young.

No wonder that NSW have won didly squat over the last five years when you have brain dead fools in charge.

I can't believe Young is in front of Farah, I know Farah's form has not been that good but Young…... Really!
Ricky Stuart Is going to fail IMO! We need players with natural talent.... Farah and as much as I dislike this bloke playing for the Dragons Soward also Mullen and Hayne should All be there.

I don't even support anyone in Origin. I will never support Queensland, and can't stand that ******* ***** Ennis playing for NSW.

I'm a bit the same, BOW. I remember when it used to feel like I was supporting WT when NSW won or lost - the emotions would be just as strong. These days, I couldn't care less and it's not just because we are losing all the time, it's all the politics surrounding team selections - the obvious favouritism of certain players and their inability, or unwillingness, to pick form players in their correct positions. It's become very disheartening and, for me, it has ruined an event that I once very much enjoyed.

NSW problems are they have too many to pick from . Qld occasionally have that issue but a lot of the time we seem to make the right choice . Allan Langer was a perfectly good example he was totally outplayed by Laurie Spina in the only ever trial for Origin we ever had . Bennett did not have confidence in him even But he was the right choice .

Not so long ago I used to be so pumped on the eve of an origin, now like many I really just watch it for the sake of it. It's not because nsw have been losing the reason is I do not like the coaches of the past 5 years tactics and the selectors inept selections. :frowning:

I feel exactly the same way! Every year, same old crap! :brick:
