Esan Marstars could be off to Cronulla

Maybe we should snare Jesse Senne Lafeo off them…can't seem to get a run, was one of Manlys best last year.

Try telling Liam Fulton that size is an issue.

I will be disappointed if we let this one slip through our fingers. These are the players we should be looking to resign a year before their contract finishes. Hole runner and try-scorer that can defend.

while fults was great i think right now we need taupaus, dwyers and ellises more. some impact in the 2nd rower rather than defensive workhorses

This info was on the Sharks' forum -

Esan Marsters tabled same offer from both sharks and tigers but he seems to be leaning more towards tigers

Also, seems like the Shark's juniors are being targeted with their Schoolboy Half Connor Tracey going to the Rabbits and their is a strong rumour their Aust Schools Hooker, Jayden Brailey, about to be announced as a signing by the Eels.

We tend to retain the juniors/development players we want to retain.

Despite the talk about not being a unified team our kids are great mates and want to play together.

Say he re-signs…who does he replace in our squad/healthy NRL team? Aloai will be better next year, much like Lovett has been this year. We may only have one 9 next year (looking like Liddle!) so perhaps he jags that spot on the bench if he impresses the same way Aloai and Felise have

I'd take him over Lovett, halatau and if masters hits form I'd take him over Aloai too! If he can repeat what he has in 20's he's exactly what we need aside running second rower who can hit a gap and has good offload.
It's a big yes from me…

Saw him at Nth Sydney Oval last weekend. Looks pretty big, even at that level, but very raw. Had some nice moments and nearly set up a try on his own, but managed to throw a silly pass and put us under real pressure as a result.

Has just re-signed with Tigers until 2018.

Good stuff. He plays in a position we need and has the raw ingredients to make a real go of it. All the best for the future, young tiger.

Hopefully he kicks on, but you need to be very wary of those guys who monster players through size in the juniors/u20's. They get found out very quickly at NRL level.

Like everyone else I hope that he lives up to the hype. I did watch him last week in the Intrust Super Cup where he had a few good moments but time will tell whether he kicks on. I'm glad that the Tigers managed to keep another promising U20's player.

Thing is he doesn't monster opponents through his size alone. Quite the opposite. He runs very smart lines and has a good step to make a half break and then put his power to use to score/make a break.

We haven't really had a junior like him before, at least not for a while. He's been more effective than Liolevave ever was. Seemed quiet last weekend but apparently made 200m+ to lead all players.

Still needs to make more metres when just hitting the ball up but has a number of skills which could set him apart if he can improve the other areas of this game.

Our NRL side gets found out pretty easy by guys who monster their way through - Tony Williams and Sam Kasiano run through our forwards at will. Hopefully this kid kicks on to a level where he can do the same to other sides.

In fairness I haven't seen T-Rex make a break through the forwards for several seasons against any side.

Great news, very happy about this.

He played very impressively tonight in the U/20's match against Roosters. Has surprising speed and agility and tackles well.

This is from Fox Sports… didn't see anyone post it

JUNIOR KIWI TO INK NEW DEAL

Wests Tigers have won the race to sign junior Kiwis wrecking ball Esan Marsters.

The 19-year-old has been one of the most in-demand players yet to make his NRL debut with five NRL clubs in Cronulla, Manly, Newcastle and South Sydney all courting the backrower.

While he was close to inking a deal with the Sharks, Marsters decided to stay loyal to the Tigers and sign on for another two seasons.

Having represented the Cook Islands in 2015, Marsters, who tips the scales at 110 kilos, will remain in Concord until the end of 2018.

Before being promoted to the Intrust Super Premiership NSW, Marsters had scored eight tries in 10 NYC appearances this season and led the Tigers for line breaks with 11.

Marsters was expected to make his NRL debut this season however second-tier salary cap issues are expected to prevent him from featuring in the top grade in 2016.

On the weekend the club had to be granted salary cap dispensation to debut hooker Jacob Liddle due to an injury crisis.
