Esan Marsters

Madge has signed some great young players i think AD was a bit of a panic signing kind of a jack of all trades signing e.g. where is his best position, centres probably robs talai etc from getting a shot

AD will become over the next 2 years a marginally better than average fullback...What will hold him back is his lack of genuine speed that the really good ones have..Allow him time to develop his game....

Esan Marsters was good in 2017-18. No good after that. Never improved, in fact, he went backwards.

Agree had one good season with us, was'nt progressing wanted more $ and Madge thought better, that's why i think our Roster is improving the coach makes the decisions on who is worth keeping, word is a lazy trainer as well as mentioned by another forum member.
I actually think Lawrence is playing better than he did last season.
Wish him all the best hope he rediscovers his form, new coach in FNQ might have to pull up his socks but no longer our concern.

Well agree needs to work on positional play better and slow coming back, but he is also fairly safe not that worried about him under a high ball, hits the line hard, he always gives 110%, good team player that wants to improve.
Where his best position is think we will know next season.

AD could fall into the same boat as Esan, cant quiet nail fullback centre or five eigth.
Esan had that one good year

Not even close.

AD is a footy player...he burns after losses, he wants it 'bad'. Possible future captain.

Esan is a big bloke who found himself playing footy...likely English SL bound sooner rather than later.

In all honesty I was upset we lost him, just because I thought if we persevered he would have come good. But it’s obviously not happening.

We do that a lot, and it hardly if ever works, sometimes you just cut your losses, we are slow learners

Still struggling to get all the hate for AD. I think with a touch more speed he's got what it takes. Plenty of other noffies in the team to hang 💩 on.

He’s 21 barely played 10 games at fullback and has had one poor game. Let’s not throw him in the same boat as Marsters he’s got talent and he’s a hard worker

My concern with him apart from his lack of speed is his courage. Those two poor misses vs the eels showed he was well scared to me. Don't get me wrong, I hope he can be great for us.

Throwing himself in front of Paulo and Sivo means he’s scared? I think the complete opposite, he put his body straight in front of the two scariest guys on the field. Technique may have been lacking but to say he’s scared is ludicrous

Technique may have been lacking is an understatement. There's no need to fear the legs in either of those attempts for a first grade footballer. He looked like a deer in the headlights on Paulo. And everyone keeps saying he has size himself. I don't know, I've never seen him up close, but he's definitely not a small bloke. Brooks wouldn't have shirked responsibility in either situation I'd suggest. If it is fear, he needs to get rid of it as a fullback in today's game.

He slowed down Paulo and he had a decent crack at sivo who is pretty much unstoppable from that far out. Scared players don’t throw themselves into monsters like Sivo and Paulo.

My biggest concern for AD was getting gassed by RCG. Yes the initial break shouldn’t have happened but an outside back should never get burned by a front rower, especially your fullback

The Moses chip and chase is excusable I think because most FBs defend in the line like that. And well Sivo probably scores that try 9/10 times anyway

Hopefully the Parra game was a learning curve for things he needs to improve on

But at that point where he got the ball chipped over the top of him him who is to say he would have caught it if he was on the goal line and stopped the try

Madge didn’t seem happy about the RCG try I’m sure he’ll address it.

Who knows. I think it was a brilliant play by Moses more than it was a shocking positioning play by AD

IMHO, RCG run was a due to: Grant fell of the tackle, and Aloiai created a gap by sliding to the right, and then just grabbed RCG shadow on his left. After that RCG was at the full speed and hard to tackle, especially if an injury affected some of AD's movements.
