Eye of the Tiger theme

We can't be beaten would be pretty cheesy IMO.

We have a Tiger as our logo. It only makes sense that Eye of the Tiger would be our theme song. One of the greatest ever, inspirational, motivational songs of all time is regarding a Tiger. The lyrics are perfect, so what does our club do? They re-write it.

I've thought as much since forever.

We need our own song!! Written about the team.

(I found this out at Christmas) Cronullas song (Which I think is one of the best getting around) is written by a composer from the Czech Republic a very long time ago -Cant remember what it's called.

But there would be a thousand great tunes around, And Ideas here alone for Lyrics
would be enough to get going.

I played covers for years - There's nothing like Singing YOUR song… Singing to something someone else came up with sucks!!
 
I've always thought we should get Jimmy Barnes (who's a tigers fan) to belt out an Eye of the tiger.

Up Up Cronulla??

One thing I do know about that song….it would be great to shove that trumpet up the blokes Khyber who constantly blows that bloody thing. Almost as annoying as the Muppet who plays the cow bell at Storm home games, that bloke should be ejected from the ground.

AC/DC's You Shook Me All Night Long would do the job. The crowd would be pumped hearing that opening riff blast out as the boys take the field for sure. That song gets the adrenaline going way better than Thunderstruck could ever do IMO.
 
TBH, could not care if we ran out to nothing or any crap song. Makes no difference really to me. What I'd love to see is the opposition looking over as they run out "oh crap this will be a hard afternoon/ night, we are going to be sore tomorrow". If we could achieve that I would not care if we ran out to something by bloody Hansen. If the club is looking at changing the song, we better be the best run club in the comp as there are other major issues to fix first, including getting a premiership contending team.

Don't need to ruin the song altogether - as if he could do it better than the original.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Let Jimmy soak his vocal chords in some more alcohol.

The alternative is to get another song.
 
The song only matters if the it becomes the best part of going to a game. I am fine with what we've got. The performance and the results matters more than the run-on song.

I think a similar thread was posted during last year. I've always hated "the eye of the tiger." so to have it as a theme although I get it, I find it really nauseating.

I'd love to hear something like Metallicas "Nothing Else Matters" That would be an awesome anthem type of start to a game. :righton: :supporter:

well, as apt as "eye of the tiger" seems, for me it evokes memories of Rocky III, which was AWESOME… when i was 10 when it came out... if you get me?

tbh, against all my instincts, i actually really like the katy perry song! but wouldnt want the tiges to run out to that... not exactly a manly type singer!

ive always thought Welcome to the Jungle (absolute timeless classic) would be awesome, but do remember hearing it at a game somewhere.

in my mind, i think to UFC walkout songs, and what works and what just doesnt (fave is holly holm skipping out to gaelic music, but doubt many would go for that!!!), and to me the music played at walkout is extremely impactful if done correctly, and vice versa, and therefore pretty important.

i have to say, i have no suggestion at the minute. but the incumbent is amateurish and has to go.

a song i have always thought would be awesome is a song by a band called Atreyu that is called "Becoming the Bull". okay, so its my fantasy UFC walkout - i'm a taurus - but if they changed it to tiger it'd be cool!!

needs to be hard core, but not too bogany imo....

Yeah "Welcome to the Jungle" is a bit generic, I've heard it played at a few away games at Soulless Stadium (aka Homebush).

I would prefer the original Eye of the Tiger to the crappy remake we have now. The intro is pretty classic…

Wests Tigers value your input. Which song would you suggest for a
'Post Warm Up Song' that can be played as the boys finish their warm up and are returning to the tunnel?
We want a song that is quite universal and that most people will know the words to as well as being emotive and relevant to the Club.

If anyone has any others leave them here and I will make sure it gets passed on...Even Happy's...

The Club is listening.....
