Eye of the Tiger theme

I'm happy if they stick with Eye of the Tiger if they use the Survivor version. The WT one is poxy and cringeworthy.

If they were to change it, I'd go for Eye for an Eye by Soulfly. Awesome intro, growling drop G-tuned guitars, Max Cavalera. I want break things when I hear that song.

If they don't go that, then I'd say Master of Puppets. Iconic intro and would pump everyone up.

Do they have a PG version of Eye for an Eye CB :laughing: ??

They only swear twice :laughing:

The inspiration for the song is about the singer coming back after his stepson was killed, but the lyrics also translate as redemption and righting of wrongs. Very apt for us at the moment.

Did anyone notice that on the team announcement video they used eye of the tiger rather than the Wests Tigers remake that they used last year ?

They are keeping Eye of the Tiger as our run on song and Welcome to the Jungle as the opposition run on song.
This additional intends to be a fun sing-along song as the team runs up back up the tunnel after the warm-up. That being the case I think Roar by Katy Perry is the best fit.

The old rockers still get Survivor and Guns N' Roses, and the younger fans get Katy Perry. Something for everybody.

I'm all for it if it contributes to families coming along. Especially if we get Katy Perry live at Leichhardt Oval 😱pen_mouth:

The Katy Perry song isn't really a sing-a-long kind of song though. Lyrics wise it might be somewhat relevant, but the general tempo is too fast for a singalong except for a couple of lines in the chorus which slow down.

Not many people will know the lyrics outside of the chorus either, so it will be hard to pick up. If the intention is just to play a song then it's not a bad choice but i wouldn't expect much interaction with it from fans…

Metallica are the kings of cool intros to their songs-you could pick 20 or more that would be awesome run on songs. Damage Inc, Battery, Blackened, Puppets, Sanitarium etc.

The 2 that would kick the most arse would be Dyer's Eve and especially Fight Fire With Fire…...that mellow acoustic guitar starting up as the boys walk down the tunnel and transforming into that balls-out heavy-as-#### intro riff right at the moment they hit the field....flames shooting into the sky as well.....man, that would be the all time!

The old fogies amongst the crowd would probably recoil in horror though. So I guess it is just Eye Of The Tiger for the rest of our years.

Ride the Lighting is an epic intro as well, and Motorbreath.
