Famous from your school

Tim Brasher went to Grantham High School in Seven Hills.

Was a stand out and a class about the rest of the team.

You knew if he could stay injury free he would be a great player.

Apparently only got 50 for his HSC so lucky he could play league and union.

Narwee Boys High, (Between Beverly Hills / Riverwood) where nothing good ever came of it so they tore it down.

case in point - I am ashamed to say - Morris Iemma

That whole post cracked me up Spartan

Attended Holy Cross College, Ryde from 1975 (yr 5 )until end of 1980 (yr 10)
here are some of names from that era:
Greg Cox
Mark & Paul Beaven
Craig & Paul "nobby" Clarke.
Darren Clarke Olympic runner, we knew then he would go to Olympics
Benny Elias
John Owens
Paul Anderson- boxer ( now coaching for australian boxing team for this year olympics)
Paul McInerney
once I left there were more footy players over the years:
two come straight to mind:
Paul Sirronen
Bronson Harrison

i went to Westfields Sports High, i actually had a scholarship in League and used to do goal kicking practice with Michael Buettner . Well known people that have come through there : and became good mates with quite a few of these guys, Harry Kewell, Michael Buetner, Jason Culina , Dene Halatau , Sue Kenny (Australian Netball), Andy Patmore ex Bulldogs player was my Maths teacher, so many more would of come through can't remember though.

I went to Northmead High. The only footy player I know went there was Tony Melrose (before my time).

A couple who went on to bigger things were:
* Greg Page (the original yellow wiggle)
* Natalie Avellino (netball)

We had a rugby league ref teaching while I was there but I can't remember his name. Never had him as a teacher but the general impression was that he was a loser.

I went to a school in the north shore, so we have a kid in the year below me named Michael Hooper, he plays for the Brumbies at the moment and there's talk of him being a Wallaby in the future.

The only other claim is the might and power that was Nick Bradley-Qalilawa.

Steve Bernard - (former NSW fast bowler and later selector and Aussie team manager) was my 5th grade teacher for a couple of terms.

Pat English and Steve Gearin were student teachers doing their prac when I was in year 8

When I was about 15, I knocked around a bit with… guess who?... our current CEO, who was best mates with a friend of mine.

AND nothing to do with my school, but just had to add this - my big sister brought Dallas Donnelly home after a night out once! I came out of my bedroom and there was Donnelly sitting in our living room. I think I was about 13 or 14 at the time, thought it was Christmas!

Played cricket with Brute (Steve Bernard) at St George

Big Red Brad Meyers!

When some of the Broncos officials came for a presentation it was as if The Queen was visiting our school.

What Villa Nova?

No league players that I am aware of, either primary or high school.
Drop kick Matt adamson was our league coach whilst I was in yr6\. (Gotta give him credit though, he took a bunch of blokes who had basically never played league before and took us undefeated in the schools first year of playing!!)

Most famous person from either of my schools was richie benaud.

Who are these advancing in youth’s gay panoply
With the flag of courage flying, a joyous company?
Challenging the future, the ranks go swinging by
Along life’s road at morning time beneath a glowing sky.

Someone else on here with some style

I still atend Holy Cross College and the recent ones are Curtis Sironen and Aaron Woods, Mitchell Moses is a gun player and should be player for the under 20s soon

Josh Perry I think?
Lame guys like Jamie Lyon, Michael Ennis & not so lame Brett Kimmorly were from my neighbourhood though.
Paul Harragon was a part of the same surf club as me & Ben Kennedy use to always come to my primary school.

I was also at Grantham (now Hills Sports High), a couple of years below Tim. From memory in the one year he made the Australian Schoolboys League side, and the NSW Union & AFL school sides.

Yes his school marks were poor. JP 2 actually got him over repeat Year 12 so he could play in their football side but he made FIrst Grade during the year and couldn't play schoolboys anymore.

From Ashfield Boys High in the 60s:
Geoff Smith (Wests Amco Cup replacement 1977)
Nick Moroko (Wests mid-70s)

…and in music-land:
Malcolm and Angus Young (AC/DC)
