Fans have right to ire over Cleary: Tigers

The Clearys are laughing all the way to the bank TBH. Any dip in form from both player and coach sees them secure for the next 5 years. Penrith have gone all in and from now on they are both dead to me…

As for the Tigers.

I am sure that we are in a better position with Maguire at the helm. I honestly think that if the rebuild continues with the current trajectory we will be well on the way to being a credible club for the first time...

Well done Justin Pascoe ..have questioned him in the past …he has stood up when it countered.. well handled in a big test getting the best possible outcome for Wests Tigers...we can move forward with confidence...

Absolutely. This guy is a keeper. Go as well.

Fatman Gould has not paid us any compo?? No but Cleary has out of the money Penrith has given him.

Most NRL contracts get paid in two instalments a season one mid season and one in November, my guess Cleary did not get his November cheque….but Iam sure he will be fixed up by his new employers

Very happy with how the club has handled this situation. Less happy with Cleary for obvious reasons. He came into the club as a professional - now he leaves the club without his integrity and a distinct lack of professionalism for how he has handled this situation.

Looking forward to 2019 and what Madge and his support staff will bring to the club.

X2

Never been so disappointed in a person in my life.

Hoodwinked - a man of honesty, integrity, honour and ethical to boot…. just turned out to be a tosser.

Ivan leaving @WestsTigers HQ this morning@PhilGould15@_nathancleary@jim_jim86

Please translate for we poor non social media types!

 Yes, that would be welcomed!!

Ivan left….Phil Gould is a tool...Nathan is a daddy's boy and jim jim likes the number 86..

I wonder if Ivan the Terrible will address the Penrith players on day one at training with a prepared statement… along the lines of trust, respect, honour, integrity, blah, blah, blah, something about a bus, blah, blah, blah... or maybe he’ll just text them from home.

I think he will get Nathan to read out his instructions to the team….."on behalf of our Coach. lets all do 100 situps and 10K runs.."

In light of the fact that this situation was none of our making and in actual fact I think we are in a more favourable leadership position heading into season 2019

I for one Im thinking I will just get over IC.

We are better off than when he got here and Im not gonna begrudge him for sucking up his pride (Gould Sacking) and going back to Penrith.

There's family, facilities and a Wad of cash for him.

Cant wait for Coach Maguire to get here.

He's banked 5 years so he's laughing in that respect. It will be the last stop for him though if he has a godawful couple of seasons at Penrith and gets marched.

Just glad the whole affair is over and while disruptive for our playing group and fanbase, we've come out of it better than what we went into it. We've secured a premiership winning coach and our faith in the front office has been restored. Pascoe and Go are certainly assets to this club.

It's an unbelievably good deal for Ivan; but boy the Panthers have made themselves hostages to fortune. To give a five year deal to a coach they sacked three years ago is bizarre. If Ivan is sacked before his five years is up, the Panthers will be a laughing stock. In my opinion, they already are.

The pressure is really on them to win a comp… Not within the next five but two/three years imo... The way they go about things he won't be there if they haven't lifted a trophy by the end of '21

Those poker machines out at Riff are better than the chook that laid golden eggs. If and when Cleary is shown the door he will be paid out like all the other ones….just a drop in the ocean

i have a little more respect for ivan, since he sent that text to the players, thought that was quite nice of him

Agree, very nice of him.

It's sort of like only twisting the knife in your back 5 times instead of six.

Anyway, at the end of the day, we get a better coach and the Panthers and Ivan can get on with whatever it s they are going to get on with - they deserve each other.
