Maybe he is injured. Lawrence played in this game last year didn't he?

like the side, shame about lawrence, but hes not really a spotlight player this year is he.. he's been handing all the attack to tuiaki and has just been a rock so probably overlooked.

good to see Civo back! Should be a good game, hope farah shows them how a real hooker plays.

2007, 2008 he's the incumbant….must be more injured than thought....

izotope....handed the attack to Tui....you got that right......notice the wingers outside him in Tui's absence scored 5 tries in 2 games......

Maybe lawrence isnt playing because he will be playing for australia in the 4 nations?

Does that mean that Thurston won't be playing in the green and gold??? Let's hope so!!!

This side has never been a serious rep side. It's always been a mix of players who have played for Australia (which is where Monas, Campese, Williams, Thurston etc came from) combined with some young blood who are likely to wear the green and gold one day. Missing the side does not mean you are a poor player.

PENRITH prop Petero Civoniceva has been named captain of the Prime Minister's XIII to take on Papua New Guinea in Port Moresby later this month.
The match will be the Queensland State of Origin star's first since injuring his toe in the second match of this year's series against NSW.

Civoniceva is one of three Test incumbents in the team, along with halfback Johnathan Thurston and Cronulla enforcer Paul Gallen.

Canberra rookie Josh Dugan has been named at fullback for the team after his breakthrough 2009 NRL season, while Newcastle veteran Adam MacDougall is on the interchange bench.

Dugan is one of five Raiders in the team, making them the best represented NRL club, while Civoniceva is one of four Panthers named.

The Prime Minister's XIII play the Kumuls on September 27.

Congrats to both but seriously Williams on the wing? I thought the gimic players time was up.

lol at Nate Myles being there!

I guess he can just defecate the natural way that God intended over in the jungles of PNG

But seriously, Douglas or Snowden should be there instead of him.

They're honest, young hard working players that should be there instead of this myth, in fact I'd have both of them instead of Shillington and Myles.

He better be careful in those jungles otherwise he could end up as dinner for some of the locals.

Not at all, I just think Thurston is a knob… nearly as much as Ennis. To be honest, I don't think we would be losing much if we had Prince playing halfback instead of Thurston.
