Farah getting groin done 30/11/11

I am happy to see Robbie tour first then get surgery, its pretty minor stuff anyway.

Tours and rep duties are the carrots that keep players like Robbie fresh and motivated. We know he will be fit and ready come round 1, which is all that matters.

Yeah but I guess he wanted a shot at rep football. The green and gold and the blue jerseys really mean a lot to him, it's like the devil on his back. 6 months is still plenty of time to recover from a groin anyway, especially if it was an injury that didn't even have him sideline.

Its 4 months not 6 but fair call. Im sure they know what they are doing and Robbie will be fit and firing for round one

I had this operation done MANY years ago by Neil Halpin (must have improved by now) and I was running in 4 weeks, flat out in 8 weeks. With the rehab available to Robbie, he will be fine by season start.

I don't think Robbie gets enough credit for his toughness. He played in pain for a large part of 2011 and whilst his running game was hampered (both by injury and lax marker policing), his defence was outstanding. Likewise, he lifted to score gutsy tries in the last few games when we really needed him.

Ennis's media mates love to play the Farah is too soft for Origin card- it irks me big time and I'm sure RF would hate to finish his career with just the 2 SOO games on his record- he is better than that.

Let's hope he is 100% in 2012 and has a big year. When he fires, the Tigers are an 8 point better team.

Happy to play devils advocate here, but the Tigers are paying Robbie how much??? Shouldnt the opp have been done 2 months ago having him fully fit for pre season, and any recurring niggles dealt with before season 2012? Just my preference thats all.

King Sirro I'm with you on this and would like to add that I thought after what happened after his last SOO game when he went into it with an injury he would of learnt that that playing with injuries will do you more harm than just getting them done

I would of preferred our captain to get the surgery before the tour and not toured just so he can be training in the pre season to help the club through what will be an interesting and testing year without a known halfback .Also building combinations with a completely new 7 also

Just my opinion

100 percent correct

robbie made 917 tackles in 26 matches this year average of 35 per game and most for the tigers
allthis whilst hampered with injury = tough
\
\
1494 run metres for 224 runs
average of 6.6 metres a run and 57 metres a game
not bad for a guy whos making 35 tackles continually running to dummy half and expected to score st up tries kick and direct a team aroung

mentally = he must be tough
physically = his stats show he is tough

and this is the man playing at around 80 percent
farah = is tough

someone should tell ricky stuart and nsw selectors that toughness isnt looking ugly it isnt getting in fights and it isnt being labelled tough by news papers
\
\
robbie realises he is there to play rugby league and not to fight
robbie realises that being tough is to play as hard as you can give your all for your team and team mates

the guy is built for nsw soo as he absolutely oozes passion…he is known as the player who wont talk to anyone if the tigers lose he wont even talk and will be grumpy if liverpool lose a match in the epl...he is a winner and loves to win...he is a competitor and not a niggler he thrives on being the best

Robbie is tough, passionate, driven, motivated, and a leader
i am glad he is our captain because he loves this club and is driven to be successful and for the surrounding players and the club to be successful with him

He said in an interview mid season the groin injury was no problem anymore :brick:

I reckon I could find a dozen plus postings of yours referring to that interview ink!

….. cannot even take it from the horse's mouth mate!!!

I too like to take the player's words in good faith - but experience has killed that!

Come on guys, why would you give the opposition teams an edge and tell them about our injuries? I don't think you could ever take that as gosphel.

What? You want our captain to put the team first? You got the wrong guy.

Robbie Farah carried us along on his back for more than two years. He has often played injured, and more often than not he has played behind a beaten forward pack.

Your statement is utter rubbish.

Agreed Hybrid…...that Farah comment was digraceful.

Simon and HYbrid are you having a shot at King Sirro's comment or Gallaghers comment
Im with KS personally think for the better of the club he should of got surgery before the 4 nations and been able to help lead the club and help whoever our new No 7 will be to get better acclimatised and build some confidence in the 6,7 and 9
Everyone saw how long it took Lui to feel comfortable playing alongside Benji and Robbie and to have the confidence to overrule them both as a 7 should

I also expect Ellis to have same operation

I do recall reading that the big fella needed surgery to fix his groin problem. I won't be surprised if he has the op in England as I suspect he'll stay with his family until pre-season starts for him in January.

Sooooo Farah shouldnt have gone to the uk!!!

He is sooooo selfish!!!

Gazza ok though?

Some of the anti Farah rubbish astounds me!!

Imo he is the staunchest and most loyal tiger!!!bleeds for us and peeps give him grief!!

Yay Robbie…...booo haters!

It was common knowledge, everyone knew about the groin so hardly giving the opposition any leg up….only mug fans read the papers anyway...
No....this P's me off, theres a change of tune....this was a direct lie, I was so happy to hear it, put the rumours to bed, now I find out he was crapping.
Poor form farah

Whoa Snake, nice convincing argument! I've totally changed my mind.

Other Snake classics-

"Penicillin smells funny, it"ll never catch on?" ( saved 1 billion lives)

"That Bradman kid hits across the line too much." (99.9 average)

Statistics mean nothing bla bla…

Maybe things have changed since mid season?

Maybe it was worrying him more by end of the season then half way through the season?

Who knows? Expect the club and Robbie. He didnt miss games in 2011 and will be right for kick off in 2012\. Whats the problem? You dont know full story so poor form bagging him out.

People need to relax, he may have been managing it well and felt it was going to hold without surgery. Its not a lie or change of tune when it comes to injuries like this, because they aren't static, they change over time.

Calling him a liar is a bit of an overreaction.
