Farah to SOUTH SYDNEY in 2017..OFFICIAL..

So now we are left with an aging, injury prone hooker nearing the end of his career and a young bloke just out of u/20's to fill the hookiing role,we now look a little light on in covering this position.

Farah began playing first grade with Wests Tigers in 2004 when he was 20 years old which is the same age as Liddle is now.

Be funny if he plays NSW Cup at the Rabbits.

I still think its a bit rich for us to be paying $750k of his salary next year…..but our past Management caused this problem and as per usual the club will pay the price.

Lets hope after 2017 we can have a year where the only players we are paying for are the ones playing for us.

Suggestion is they are looking for a 3rd string, 2nd tier type hooker with a couple of names thrown around. Given the number of games he has been available for this year, you could argue souths have just signed an aging injury prone hooker.

smart signing by souths. they got a nsw hooker for 250 thousand a year. a bargain. we have plodders in our team on more than that. best of all he can play against us next year. another smart move by management

15 Clubs had a chance to buy the NSW Origin hooker for $250k, why'd it take so long for somebody to actually get him. You'd think he would've been snapped up a lot quicker wouldn't you?

That is only being nasty and inaccurate. Robbie stated he wanted to stay in Sydney - so that eliminates 6 clubs at a guess. He also wanted a club with a chance to win a GF so that eliminates many more clubs. Then it comes down to which remaining clubs are already contracted with hookers for the following year?
Then again which remaining clubs prefer to stick with someone they are already developing/developed due to continuity of strategy and to retain loyalty of other players. That they will not just be dropped at drop of hat.

So there is a multitude of reasons - just like choosing a wife, you don't drop a solid one because someone else has come onto the market.

Good luck at the new club, and thanks for the effort in every game you played for WTs. Pity there weren't a lot more like you in the team over the years,
We'd have seen a lot more September Football if there had been.

Good luck champion. Souths are the clear winners in this disgraceful episode.

Well written LCA. Good luck Robbie and enjoy your time with the bunnies. I've enjoyed your career at Balmain and WTs and will always remember your will to win.

what a footnote to go out on - the only player I can recall that was "sacked"/dropped from first grade after scoring good tries in final two games and maybe even topping the tackle count as well. Maybe it will create a new term "Farah-Farewell" or similar.

All the best to Robbie, one of the best 9's we have had!

Now it's over to the next generation, I wish Liddell the best and hope he can contribute to the on field legacy left by some of the games best hookers to play for Wests, Balmain and WT - Kelly, Elias, and Robbie

Or it could be that 14 other NRL clubs didn't want him - just saying!

All the best Robbie you are and always will be a legend for the Tigers. I believe you have a much better chance at winning a comp in the two years with Souths.

So who had 80 pages on the forum to get an answer? I would love to see a stat breakdown of how much certain members account for each of these posts. I reckon you would find 60% of these 82 pages would be from only half a dozen members…

In any event thank god its over! Robbie will never play at Leichhardt again as Souths games will always be played at ANZ home or away (unless he's playing for the Bears or a trial game lol).

Hoping Liddle can break through next year, he should be in the top 25 so that the 2nd tier cap won't apply to him again.

Farewell I will miss years 2005-2011 Robbie, though for 2012-2016 Robbie see ya!

You reckon…Souffs finished behind us on the ladder and are a team going backwards...whereas we are a team on the up!..
