Farah - what is wrong & what is the solution ?

Alright - it is now pretty obvious for at least most of last season and all of this season that Robbie is not up to the level he can be at. I have no idea what is wrong - it could be rep duty last year had him nervous, the captaincy adds pressure to him, he has an injury or whatever. I don't think that the reason is as important as getting him back into form.

As a hooker he seems to be trying to get wide and create things consistently but he simply doesn't appear to be at a first grade level out wide. His close range attacking kicking game is terrible unless he is close to the line and kicking from dummy half. His long range kicking game imo still seems pretty good. His service from dummy half has been poor and his running from there has been average. Not terrible but average.

Playing 7 today he was more often than not out wide where he has been terrible for a long time. When he was back at dummy half and not playing for himself he looked better.

Imo we need Robbie at 9 but with strict guidelines from the coach. He needs to provide good service and create opportunities up the middle. He should kick when appropriate but he should be giving the ball on around the 4th or 5th tackle unless he is going to score or get it in the in-goal.

He hasn't hit form all season and is making some terrible decisions…. on two occassions we had numbers out wide but he opted to kick... why? I have no idea!

I will wait till his body is right before I start bagging him just yet.

At the moment he is playing virtually with 1 arm due to a broken thumb, stuffed elbow ligaments and his shoulder is damaged goods also.

Even playing with 1 arm he is playing better than half the side, he isn't the reason we aren't winning the games.

Yep and Liam had a good crack at hooker today so Farah may find it tough to get his spot back…

I know he has been terrible - anyone who can't see it has no idea.

The point is what can the coach do to get his form back.

Farah is a class player,no doubt, but currently he's playing for his own spot in the rep teams against Smith & Ennis & doing things that will make HIM stand out(if they come off)…were worse off for this indulgence,& any sensible coach wld have addressed this early on.
Unfortunatly we dont have one..

I have suspected for many weeks Farah has been carrying injuries for a while now. That alongside with the changed game under instructions to relieve the halfback duties has really taken away from his own natural game. I'm telling you all now….the problem is stemming from the halfback role!!

We know…in fact everyone realises this bar Sheens...stubborn old coot.

Farah is trying his hardest, I'll give him that. He has said numerous times how much he hates losing so I'd imagine he'll be stewing over the game right now like all the players I suspect. It's just unfortunate he is coming up with some average to poor plays thrown in with some good touches. He's trying, but it's just not quite coming together for Robbie at the moment, his kicking game is probably what's letting him down the most at the moment. Be interesting to see how he goes for City on Friday night.

Wow Farah playing heavily injured and the team suffering because of it.

Thats a real change of pace. :unamused:

Robbie needs to stay at dummy half. He is trying too much at the moment. We need a halfback with a good passing and kicking game to take pressure off Benji and Robbie.

LETS PUT IT THIS WAY I DONT THINK ALL THIS FARAH VS ENNIS ORIGIN TALK HAS HELPED ROBBIE.HE IS TOO EAGER TO IMPRESS ORIGIN SELECTORS THAT HE HAS GOTTEN AWAY FROM WHAT MAKES HIM GOOD AND HE HAS CONTINUED TO PLAY INJURED WHEN HE SHOULD OF HAD A WEEK OR TWO OFF.

Strip him of the captaincy and give it to Heighington!!!!!

Or Payten if he can keep those massive calves of his on the field…..

Tommy since when has brains been required for a good captain….

The great Tommy wasn't a mental giant....He was a fantastic captain....guts determination leadership.....
