A Croatian that was born and played his junior football in Australia? Try looking at some of the Middle Eastern countries that coax South Americans over and have them gain citizenship to play for their countries in international competitions.

In June, Socceroos captain Mile Jedinak will be Australia’s most important man. Here’s some stuff you should know about him

AUSTRALIA’S World Cup skipper has just been named. He is Mile Jedinak. Who? This might help.

1\. He’s a slow burner

Jedinak is not the most high-profile player. There was no buzz around him when he was in his late teens and early 20s as there was with the likes of Harry Kewell or Tim Cahill.

Jedinak also has the rare knack of being able to play well while doing goggly things with

2\. But that’s what makes him so impressive. He’s had to earn respect

Jedinak is one of those players who’s gotten better and better. Early on, he played in **Croatia**. At 29, he might have just reached his potential.

3\. He captains an English Premier League club

And played all 38 games this year, as Crystal Palace finished a respectable 11th. They even conceded fewer goals than runner-up Liverpool.

4\. He was captain of most of the teams he played for, from Under 13s to Under 18s

that if he was a serial murderer in Sydney or Queensland, Melbourne or Adelaide, Perth, Tasmania or the outback - with a name like Mile Jedinak

in an instant you wouldn't say this guy is an "ozzie"

aint that the truth… Spider in goals against the Cro's was diabolical.

I have seen Kalac and Moore at a pub in the city and overheard them both phone betting thousands on race after race for hours. I always thought that fumble goal was shady as hell, and the event at the pub years later has made me question it even more.
 
Kalac is a germ. He's the reason why Petratos left Sydney FC.

On Mile, he played junior football in Australia, and was at Sydney United for a couple of years before he went to Croatia to play. Even then he was only there for a couple of seasons.
 
Not the best farewell game. We looked great but in the final third we had nothing. Our crossing was dreadful, and our only goal came from a cross the South African goalie made a complete meal of a cross that he should have caught. Otherwise we were okay I guess, we made a few slip ups at the back but we cleaned up all bar one of them. We need to improve big time for Chile in a few weeks.
 
A good display of attacking football last night. Finishing and crossing was poor, but we were relentless for 60 minutes but the wheels fell off after that as players started to tire and we made all our substitutions. On the whole very positive signs that should continue to improve.

Halloran & Bozanic were uninspiring though and Wilkshire was non-existent, if he doesn't start at RM he won't start at all as Franjic was great at the back.

Have to disagree with you big time. First 20 minutes the movement the passing were great after that the passing was shocking, movement was non existent and the defence woeful. But it is a young team only playing together for the first time for a while after a few big players retired there is promise in this team, but will be up and down due to age and experience.

Oar was our best player by far, Leckie has pace to burn but can't cross to save his life. Wilkinson and McGowan were shocking at the back, they looked very lost. The midfield wasn't flash either their passing to the front three tapered off alarmingly towards the end of the first and most of the second half. Oh and Vidosic has the touch of a Baby Elephant, he could not control the ball at all. Some big question marks on the team and who Ange cuts, will show us what sort of mindset we will go with to Brazil.

For the record, Birighitti, Wilkshire, Rogic and Kennedy are the final cuts. Rogic and Jesus are injured, whilst Birighitti and Wilkshire left out on form/performance.
 
Wilkshire was rubbish against the Saffa's. Deserved to be cut.

Shame that Rogic & Kennedy missed out on injury.
 
Davidson and Franjic better be 100% fit then as Wilkshire was their cover. A shame about Rogic being injured. He'll be a future star for the national team if he can stay fit. Kennedy doesn't really suit Ange's system but his height would have been nice to have if we were chasing a goal with not long to go.

We now await to see the team Ange names to play against Croatia as that will be close to our strongest team.
