I can't believe anyone has taken issue with Krul's techniques in the penalty shoot out. Apparently he told the Costa Ricans before each kick that he knew where they were going to put it. First of all, I highly doubt that's the worst thing anyone has ever said to these fellows and secondly if that actually puts you off you have no business in on a professional field. Personally I loved what Krul did, how much of an effect his chatter actually had, we may never know, but the guy won his team the match. Hats off to Van Gaal too for the substitution. I hate the Dutch team too, so that's how much I liked the play.

With key players out from both South American teams, I am predicting a Holland vs Germany final with the Germans winning it all.

How can anyone take issue. Penalties are meant to be scored and if the taker can't handle the pressure, that's bad luck. People say penalty shoot outs come down to luck. Clearly they don't know the game. It's performing a skill under immense pressure. That is talent too.

Look if any country deserves some luck during a penalty shoot out it has to be the Dutch

At one stage it looked like the only way the Dutch would win a shootout was to have some strategically placed snipers in the crowd

5 - 0 at half time. There was no way back for Brazil in the second half. Then German put two more goals alway. To make it 7-0\. Brazil at a consolation goal at the end.
Don't know what the scoring comparison to Rugby League is?
As a lot of soccer score lines are 1-1 and League games are 24- 18,
maybe something Germany 84 - Brazil 12 ?

Wow… four goals in five and a half minutes. Some of that defending was just comical. If you were to compare, the simplest comparison to Rugby League you'd say it was seven tries to one so something like 42-6.

Even with how well the Dutch are going and the potential of Argentinians, I just don't see anyone beating this German side.

Enjoy the fireworks show now kids, the riots are going to be something!

Brazil's defence was dreadful. You could drive double decker buses through it. Germany barely had to get out of 3rd gear, only their last goal was a special one, the rest were just players hopelessly out of position or giving the ball away in bad areas. Almost anyone would have beaten Brazil. Giving Germany credit, they can only beat who is put in front of them, but that's probably the easiest international they'll ever play. They gave them the trashing they deserved.

Fearless prediction for the final
Argentina 2 (Messi and Aguero)
Germany 1 (Muller)

It seems everyone is super high on Germany after trouncing Brazil, but I think Argentina will nab this one. If there is a team in the world that won't care that they are overwhelming favourites it is the Germans, and if there is a team that would love being rank outsiders it is Argentina. I sense them pulling off the upset here.

Just realised Argentina hasn't let in a single goal in the knock out stages. Their attack still hasn't clicked and you would think that tonight might be the night it does.

I'm saying 3-2 Argentina. Higuain 2 and messi 1.

Müller and özil to score for Germany.

I've been saying Argentina but my tips outside then have been pretty poor haha

Brazil were poor again this morning against a good Dutch team. I think there could be some mental scars with that team that could be around for a while yet. The crowd were booing them and that just doesn't happen over there.

My tips have been dreadful too Peaches, the only thing I've been close with was Argentina to win. Some of my other gems include Holland to flop (3rd place) and Aguero top scorer (currently on 0).

I want Germany to win this simply because I will not be able to handle the media wankfest over Messi if they win. While he is a brilliant player he has been spoon fed by a remarkable team behind him at Barcelona for years.

Germany are a well rounded unit, play effortless football and have been the best team in my opinion this whole tournament. However the best team on the day are obviously the ones whom deserve to win it.

Germany v Argentina ??

The North Koreans are in the WC Final

Just ask them

That's what they are telling their people anyway

Just beat China 2-0 to qualify for the Final

The right result in the end with the Germans taking it out in extra time. German class and composure saw that they closed it out.

The goal by Goetze was magic, a totally classy touch and finish.

EDIT: Apparently it was all a sham. The North Koreans took it out 6-0 against Portugal.

Bloody FIFA robbing the 146th ranked team in the world again

Was a great goal , the Germans took control of the game in the 2nd half and didn't let go

Can't believe that the EPL kicks off in just under 6 weeks

Argentina had their chances but just couldn't take them. Germany were the best team of the tournament by a fair distance, from their demolition of Portugal through to their demolition of Brazil. They're a class team with plenty of youth on their side, they'll probably be incredibly tough in 4 years time when the bulk of this squad gets churned out again.
