Fifita to Bulldogs from 2015

It's funny you know , we have a salary cap but the comp seems to have become a comp between the haves and have nots

If the NRL was fair about the Salary Cap they would provide a continuously updated website for the public to easily access each clubs' standing with regards to their fit within the Salary Cap.

There is absolutely NO way i would be happy with the club paying 850k a season for a prop

What that scores try's sets them up great offload, great metres great defence, footwork speed agile, intimidating strong lists go on. Worth every cent. Biggest mistake in wests tigers history

Biggest mistake in Wests Tigers history?

The guy chases the dollars even if we kept him we wouldve lost him to the dogs and probably one of the young guns in the process.

It would've mirrored Dogs 2007 when they threw the bank at SWB and lost Mason, O Melley etc and then lost SBW anyway

100% Correct

When Ben Teo whored himself around he was a "dog" apparently… This guy is like teflon and nothing he or his manager does sticks.

Wests Tigers made the correct decision to not offer him double what we offered Aaron Woods!

X2…

This would be the difference between buying a premiership aka roosters...

Or earning a premiership, using loyal players who are there for the club and the players, not the money.

I read one story with interest that because they lost Ben Babra they are under the cap this year and next which allows them to spend more in coming years. This apparently allowed the roosters to get Jennings, SBW and James Malonely in the one year

Looking at our current roster we must be able to spend about $1 million over the salary cap next year as we must be well under the current cap

It's all conjecture isn't it? No one really knows who's paid what. But one thing we do know is that the whole 3rd party payment system is a rort which throws the whole 'salary cap evens the playing field' argument out the window. Until that is made fairer then some teams like the Bunnies, Broncos, Roosters (and Dogs)? will be at a massive advantage over the likes of the Tigers and Panthers.

Agree completely. The 3rd party payment system is a completely unfair rort. The system is creating a small number of "super" clubs who will continue to prosper at the expense of other clubs which, for a number of reasons cannot use the 3rd party payment system. It is a well known fact that top players only want to transfer to the teams which already have top player rosters. So the vicious cycle will continue for many years the "super" clubs will continue to became stronger and the other clubs can please themselves.

Fifita has done really well…on the back of a single stellar season his contract has gone up by around 400%!..I wish our salaries would do the same for exceptional workers..good if you can get it...good luck to him...still can't believe those crooks Sheens and Humpty let him go!.

Nobody can blame us for letting Fifita go when we did…

It's easy too look back now after he's had a couple of awesome seasons and criticize the decision but the fact is that he wasn't performing for us like that, he wasn't putting the hard yards in at the Tigers and had a chip on his shoulder.

He would never have performed for us like he did for the Sharks, some players just aren't happy at particular clubs and grow new legs when they move on to another club, sadly that was the case for us.

Fifita when he was with us was a lazy half-assed footballer, now he's probably the most damaging prop in the game, but we can't be blamed for making the call we did under the conditions he gave us...

Hindsight is a magical thing.
