Films Not Movies

It is getting universally panned even by liberal type critics.
Looks like trash
The first movie was highly praised for being a dark and gritty psychological thriller. It was different to other superhero/villain movies it drew inspiration from Taxi Driver. How could they think turning the sequel into a musical would be a good idea. The target audience is 30/40 something year olds. Never seen so many people walk out of the cinema before it ended.

Saw Terrifier 3 last night.
Dumb film lol.
Very high level of extreme impact violence and gore. 10/10 for the gore, you dont get many if any that are as so ferocious.
The story still sucks though. I think it has a lot to do with the audience - especially American audiences. They just go to see a simulated snuff film. The problem is, if thats all you are given, it becomes tedious. When you sit through scene after scene of utter depravity it ends up losing its impact. The way over the top death scenes become almost comical and fake looking. Its not scary. Its not disturbing. Its a little bit try-hard.
I think the writer/directer who also does the special effects has talent. He just needs to stop trying to impress stupid teenagers and actually produce something worthwhile.

It is doing really well though financially...already clearing 10x its budget in a week. My theatre was pretty much full with roughly a third of the audience being young teenagers - this is an extreme R horror movie....its pretty crazy to see something like this in a mainstream movie theatre.

Will have to check it out. Joker was very over the top too.

Any fans of body horror like The Fly?
There’s a new king starring Demi Moore called The Substance.
It is off it’s head wild lol….really good story, great acting and an amazing film.
Not for the squeamish, the practical effects are 10/10 and look real.
It’s shocking, grotesque and awesome.

I’m Thinking of Ending Things. Watched it last night, and my impression was ”WTF is this?”. But having done a bit of research afterwards, come to find out it’s based on a book. The book is a lot more clear about what’s actually happening. The movie is very ambiguous, so if you‘re watching the movie cold, it’s really hard to make sense of. A movie that makes you think, nevertheless.

Sounds like me watching Donnie Darko.

Really? Okay. Never knew that. Thanks for the info. Which is a better version? Just i mentioned it cause it was for free. I think you need to pay to Binge. This version was free. Which version is better IBWT?

Into the Wild is a great film.

A college graduate gives away all his belongings figuring wealth wasn't important and trekked to Alaska to live in the wilderness.

I can relate to it alot, venturing out into the wilderness away from people. The silence and nature sounds are therapeutic.

Took the kids to an early screening of Sonic 3 today.
Its a rollicking good time. Really entertaining.
Jim Carey was hillarious at times - and its not often I say that.
Idris Elba's comedic timing for the dim witted Knuckles was also very good.
Keanu Reeves did a good job as the villian and I actually forgot it was him by halfway through.
Im not a computer game fan but understood most of it and would happily recommend. There were a heap of nerds in their late 20's, early 30's there as it was a prescreening and they were having a blast....hooting and hollering and even cheering at the end when another character was presented in the credits.
Id be shocked if it doesnt make good bank.
