Theoretically we should add it to our tally for this year… Small consolation

12 wins.
25 round comp means one less bye.
Still the same 24 games played and first time 12 wins since 2011.
You know what i mean i think.

This year the for the first time in 7 years we have at least won as much as we have lost.
Sometimes 28 jags you finals sometimes it doesn't. **If we won next week we would be the first team ever to miss with 30 points.**
I would argue this was the weakest side talent wise since probably 2013 however people might argue that.\
Im not saying people should be satisfied or get the pom poms out.
However if you told me at the start if the year we would win 12 games and have a top 8 defence i would have been surprised given we lost Tedesco, Woods and Moses and bought in some journeyman.
Im not that excited about next year but relatively pleased for the consistency in effort across a season for once.

Good post Eddie and I agree with your sentiments.
Not a great season but better - >11 wins for the first time since 2011, 5 more wins than 2017\. If we are able to win next week, it would be our outright 4th best season result ever; currently it's equal 4th.
Those aren't figures to boast about, but it's something for Tigers.
Unfortunately for us, teams with this record usually make the finals, but probably not in 2018 - since 2005 only 9/104 teams (8.82%) have missed the finals with 50% wins or more, including Parra and Melbourne for the 2016 and 2014 (resp.) salary cap breaches. Tigers are one of those 9 instances (2009); Warriors have done it twice.
No team has won 13 matches in the past 13 seasons and not made the finals. I only have the data since 2005 but it may be that no team has ever missed out, as Eddie noted. Unlucky for us to be in this situation for 2018 when we are trying to claw our way back to finals footy. To put it in perspective - we won the comp 2005 with 14 regular-season wins, 2010-2011 were both 15 wins.
Teams that get 12 wins usually finish 8th, 13 wins 7th. The minor premiers usually have 18 wins (currently 15 wins).

Does nobody read the previous posts before posting?
Raised several times Russell and Eddie corrected himself already.

I started at the beginning of the thread. What do I do, read the next x number of pages and then go back and try and find the post that I wanted to answer?
Don't think so, I answer as I read. I never go back.
Conversely doesn't anybody check their facts before posting.
