We only have 26 points???

12 wins.

25 round comp means one less bye.

Still the same 24 games played and first time 12 wins since 2011.

You know what i mean i think.

Good post Eddie and I agree with your sentiments.

Not a great season but better - >11 wins for the first time since 2011, 5 more wins than 2017\. If we are able to win next week, it would be our outright 4th best season result ever; currently it's equal 4th.

Those aren't figures to boast about, but it's something for Tigers.

Unfortunately for us, teams with this record usually make the finals, but probably not in 2018 - since 2005 only 9/104 teams (8.82%) have missed the finals with 50% wins or more, including Parra and Melbourne for the 2016 and 2014 (resp.) salary cap breaches. Tigers are one of those 9 instances (2009); Warriors have done it twice.

No team has won 13 matches in the past 13 seasons and not made the finals. I only have the data since 2005 but it may be that no team has ever missed out, as Eddie noted. Unlucky for us to be in this situation for 2018 when we are trying to claw our way back to finals footy. To put it in perspective - we won the comp 2005 with 14 regular-season wins, 2010-2011 were both 15 wins.

Teams that get 12 wins usually finish 8th, 13 wins 7th. The minor premiers usually have 18 wins (currently 15 wins).

When you have been losers for so long you have to hold onto something. You got to start somewhere.e.

This year the for the first time in 7 years we have at least won as much as we have lost.

Sometimes 28 jags you finals sometimes it doesn't. **If we won next week we would be the first team ever to miss with 30 points.**

I would argue this was the weakest side talent wise since probably 2013 however people might argue that.\

Im not saying people should be satisfied or get the pom poms out.

However if you told me at the start if the year we would win 12 games and have a top 8 defence i would have been surprised given we lost Tedesco, Woods and Moses and bought in some journeyman.

Im not that excited about next year but relatively pleased for the consistency in effort across a season for once.

Think it would be 28 Eddie, not 30.

At the start of the year I had penciled them in for 15th so to finish 9th is a really good performance but at the end of the day we still finished below the halfway mark yet again.

I guess when you think Reynolds was basically gone for the season and we lost two centres at the start of the year and had no no9 for a month or two it was a good effort.

Some quality recruitment we might finally play finals footy in 2019, but Iam not holding my breath

I think people on this Forum are very hard task masters we all knew it was going to be difficult year with Ivan in his 2nd year and the draw we were given but to beat the top four teams as they stand at present and the Storm twice and to have 3 narrow 2 point losses to Broncos (we wuz robbed)Newcastle Parramatta and the Rorters and also to beat Manly twice and the Raiders (our bogey team) in Canberra were commendable efforts so when you reflect its not all doom and gloom and with the rebuilding to come things are looking good for seasons to come.

twelve wins is getting up to some dizzy heights.
I cant see those teams below us not improving nor do I see the teams above us weakening.
manly, for instance, has to be better as do the cowboys.
that is of course unless some skilful recruiting is done.

Unfortunately for us this year, the bottom teams are so far off the pace.

It's unusual to see 3 or 4 teams battle out a wooden spoon - for the most part, it's 2 teams fighting it out and the others are pretty close together.

It just means teams 5-8 have more wins than usual, because teams 12-16 have more losses than usual.

Despite having the toughest draw in the comp, we managed to roll:

As it stands, we've managed to win 5/7 against teams currently in the top 4.
- Melbourne x 2
- Roosters x 1
- Rabbitohs x 1
- Dragons x 1

1 match remains.

The 2 losses were against the Roosters and the Dragons (both of who we'd beaten in previous rounds).

I reckon they have done great with a roster that is marred by obvious weaknesess yet we are still only three wins behind the front runners.
Farah and Mybe added that little bit of class that was needed to help us remain competitive when we hit the wall mid season and while I dont believe we are anywhere the likes of the Roosters Melbourne Cronulla Penrith talent wise, we managed to be included in the mix for the entire season.
And now its imperative that we build on that for next year.

This is correct, they said it on FOX last week, no team has ever won 13 games and missed the 8, we will probably get that record knowing our luck

Does nobody read the previous posts before posting?

Raised several times Russell and Eddie corrected himself already.

I started at the beginning of the thread. What do I do, read the next x number of pages and then go back and try and find the post that I wanted to answer?

Don't think so, I answer as I read. I never go back.

Conversely doesn't anybody check their facts before posting.
