Today i hit chest,
Consisting of

Dips on the tower, 3 sets of 12
Incline dumbbell press, 3 sets of 10
Incline flys, 3 sets of 10
Flat dumbbell press, 3 sets of 10
Flat dumbbell flys, 3 sets of 10
Dumbbell pullovers, 3 sets of 10

Then finished with this thing I saw a NZ bodybuilder on youtube do where u squeeze one dumbell on both sides really hard and press it. Just get the blood flowing in the pecs when u squeeze and press.

I jump over my bench after that 50 times
3 sets of thrusters olympic bar with 30 kilos lucky to get 4 a set
Kettlebell swing 4 mins
3 sets of chin-ups first set I get 13 second 10 third 8 all wide grip
20 push-ups five burpees repeat 3 times

Not a huge workout,but the garage is like a sauna so it ends up being pretty strenuous

I hope everyone is smashing their 2020 fitness goals ?
 
2020 has been a huge improvement in my training from anything I did in 2019. Fell through a roof at work last year (Sydney Airport) arresting a bloke high as a kite on meth and tore my meniscus in the process. Had surgery in December to clean it up...3rd arthoscope on the left knee now and I have some arthritis in there which aches if I sit down too long.

Rehab is going well though, getting some good strength back in my legs but doing a lot of isolation movements - single leg leg press, single leg squats and hamstring curls and and a few other movements. Paying dividends and it's impressing my physio. Catching the train to work again is making a huge difference as I'm no longer stressed about driving home early to beat the traffic, so I'm getting 4 sessions in per week as opposed to 1-2 last year.

Time under tension! I wrote in here a few days ago I'm doing sets of 20, last one or two reps being failure. I'm 60 and I've trained all my life but I honestly wish I'd discovered this in my 20's. I believe it's due to the actual time under tension more than the number of reps, takes about a minute or more to get through a set. Might take me more than two minutes to get through my squats. Probably the same as a Nautilus high intensity set except they do the slow rep thing. Only doing one set for 8 or 9 different excercises after a warm up. Out of the gym in less than 30 minutes.

i only have 30mintues for a workout on Thursdays
so i split it into 3 parts

part 1 consists of 10 minutes of

weighted squats, lunges, box jump, dead lifts

all with weights and little rest

next part is just 10 minutes of rowing on the rowing machine

then topped of by doing the stair machine which generally wrecks me by the end of it

The squats make me cry. I started out fairly light and tried to add weight every second session, (two sessions a week). As an example, I dropped my bench press (dumbbells) by about 10kg at the start to get the reps and it was fairly easy... I reckon I could have got over 25, but stopped at 20. I went the next DB up (+2.5) the next week. I'm bench pressing the same weight for 20 reps now as I was for ten back in September. I think I've maxed out now, though, so I'll back off the weight a few pegs and start progressing again. At 60, my recovery isn't what it used to be.
