going to gym tommorow morning

first in a few weeks so will keep it simple with my standard cardio routine

which is basically 20minute run on treadmill and then rest of time on rowing machine

should be good looking forward :the_horns:

How much u weigh?
Height?

Um

Haven't weighed in a while

But judging I probably am about 100 give or take a kilo

I don't like looking at scales

I prefer to just keep grinding until results mature e.g. better fitting shirt of simply someone complementing u

Edit: I did have a routine going before holidays which consisted of cardio mainly and some weight training for upper body

Love swimming so that is also apart of a routine once a week

Oce you get through the pain of the first few weeks you really do feel better for it. Apparently i like the pain because i keep having 2-3months at a time off and then have to start again... I'm fairly hurting all over right now!

Pat, try my routine as above. It was a revelation for me after all these years and I'd be curious to see how it went for someone else. It's working for my younger brother but he's almost identical to me so that's not really an indication. Start light and just keep adding in small increments.

Same brah.
Results in the mirror over numbers on a scale.

Muscle weighs more than fat.
All that jazz.

Diet is always the most important.

rheumatoid arthritis

I suffer from Osteo Arthritis, but geez, things must be a lot worse for you. I remember a young lady I fancied a few decades ago and her hands were suffering terribly in only her mid twenties.

Does your phone track this on its own?
Or u use the watch?

I use my Samsung active, and I alos use a MyZone Belt as I'm a member of Snap fitness and they use it on their network -

However the Myzone this morning was less than accurate, as I kept moving more than Bluetooth range from my phone during the circuit.

However thats usually far more accurate than the samsung watch
Ill thrown one of those up in a sec as an example.

So the myzone belt is like a far more basic version of the the heart rate monitor that the NRL lads use. It straps round your midsection and tracks heartrate far more accurately than your watch, and also tracks "effort" for lack of a better word.

When I first started using it It calibrated to work out my maximum heart beat, and worked out effort levels based off that reading. ![20200121_105700.jpg](/assets/uploads/files/1579568459089-20200121_105700.jpg)

Youll note the above graph is broken into colours.

Red denotes periods where you are utilizing between 90 and 100 percent of your maximum heartrate,
Yellow is 80 to 90,
Green is 70 to 80
Blue is 60 to 70
Dark Grey is 50 to 60
Light Grey is below 50

So not only does this track heart rate and Calorie Burn - it gives you a realtime indicator to see how hard you are working. as you can see recovery plays a big key in keeping on going, and that middle 20 minutes would have been a high intensity session, such as a burpee relay or something.

The MEP number is a myzone score you can use to get an idea of how well you fared effort wise vs friends, connections, or even yourself.

Through my work I've been fortunate enough to get to know a well known and loved Tigers Alumni - and we are Myzone buddies too. 😉

As you can also see, he's still got it, and the percentage is how much effort you put into the overall session - because I have rest and recovery periods my overall percentage drops, but man - he's still an absolute weapon.

Can I just say - he's an overall just awesome guy as well.

For those of you who are curious about the myzone trackers, I think they are about 69 bucks for the basic one - which I use, or you can get a you beaut one that doens't need to be connected via bluetooth, and will saves the last 20 or so workouts before uploading for something like 139

and thats the main thing - whatever motivates.

My fascination with numbers has never wained since school - so to see the numbers changing, shifting, improving is part of my motivation, admittedly. Having some form of measured metric given me fact based evidence of improvement.

Has anyone ever done pilates.my wife wants me to go with her for a 10 week challenge. I've only been to local footy training. Tried weights when I was 20 but really didn't like them

I recommend Athlean-x and Jeff Cavalier

Site looks a little over the top but once you get passed that and into programs it’s quality
