You know that Tim Sheens is really under pressure when he starts bagging the fans.

We aren't fans Eddie. We are "so called fans".

"So called fans" that spend over $300 on season tickets

"So called fans" that spend thousands of dollars in mechandise each and every year.

"So called fans".

Thanks Tim.

I think Sheens is referring to the fans that hurl abuse at Fitzhenry questioning him as a human being….

You know like spastic, retard, questioning his chromosomes...

Now honestly can you tell me that they are in fact even fans?

Not so much those that question his worth or value in the team....

If your hurt or angered by Sheens snapping back ...well perhaps you shouldn't read the papers..

This isn't the first time Tim Sheens has called fans "so called fans". In saying that though some fans like the moth do go way too far.

Lol evry one should email Humphreys again and threaten not to renew memberships over the comment, see what reaction you get from him. The coach shouldnt be critisizing fans its the last thing the club would want.

I think that overall he had a good game last night in difficult conditions - he took some good catches, and he involved himself well but that was solid moreso than quality. And he can still be a turnstyle in defence, come up with at least one clanger and brings zero to the attack - all of which he showed all that last night too - so for me he is not a viable 1st grade fullback.

i call myself a fan. ive been a season ticket holder since 2004\. buy a new jersey, hoodie, jumper, beanie ect. every year. i sat and watched us through 2000-2002 (the flogging at the hands of the eels at leic, losing after being 31-8 up at penrith, ect. ect.) and copped it on the chin. and saw us rebuild from 03' and win the comp in 05'. and finally 06'-present, where we have been frustrating to say the least. i will always support my team, if thats what support is, always show my colours, always cheer my team on at games or at home and will continue to for as long as im on this earth.

BUT, i will NOT be told by tim sheens that i am a so called supporter just because i dont agree with every little thing he chooses to do with MY team. 'supporters' like me keep tim sheens in a job and pay his wage. i dont know the man but its not hard to imagine when people say he is pig-headed and arrogant. we say what we say because we are passionate about our team and it kills us to see the same things happening every week. so much so we get angry and vent on here. i dont think there is anything wrong with that.

after sheens extended his contract, he said that this was a club he 'loved dearly', well i love it too. obviously he doesn't love the so-called fans, like me. who turn up and support every week regardless of what we think is wrong with the team, i may not like the team selected but i will still spur them on and cheer for them 100%. that, is support tim. and i DO call myself one :sign:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

fitzhenry for supergod. he is wonderful. sheens says so.

this is an absolute joke.
he made 1 good catch and held the ball once when tackled by that big mean scarey man cross.
Other than that he did things that any 2nd or 3rd grade fullback would be expected to do.
His one attempt at chiming in in attack was laughable and he came up with at least one obligatory drop.

But no, he's now our fullback for the rest of this season and they're probably negotiating a new 10 year marquee deal as we speak.
Thanks sheens, how to take the gloss of an otherwise good day.

hhaha what an article!

if they are reading this, please contact us via email (<contact@weststigersforum.com>) so that we can arrange to have a LIVE one-on-one interview or Q&A session to dispel any issues.

If there seriously was an issue then someone should have contacted us by now. Yet even with our mobile numbers, email addresses and residential addresses stored in their database, they have not.

I'm not going to defend what other people say about fitzy as I believe some of it is uncalled for and some even downright rude, but at the same time I'm not going to accept that it's something that is worth getting worked up about. A lot worse things are said about fitzy and others from the grandstands.

again, the invitation for a response from fitzy or the club to the posts of users here is open and waiting.</contact@weststigersforum.com>

Indeed…

Lets hold a whole 10mins on roarcast anytime the Club wants....

Rugby league fans on forums can be harsher than judges on reality TV, but Wests Tigers veteran Daniel Fitzhenry is targeted more than almost any other player in the NRL.

Even when he was a premiership player at the Tigers in 2005, Fitzhenry copped a pasting from supporters, and things have only gotten worse this season since he returned from the English Super League.

Every week on Tigers websites he is blasted as "pathetic" and belittled as being Tim Sheens's "love child".

But as his match-winning performance against Newcastle on Friday night would attest, he has always been a class act.

Despite the constant hate mail he receives on the net, the backline utility has played more than 100 first grade games and in atrocious conditions at EnergyAustralia Stadium, played a courageous role at full-back in a make-or-break game for the Tigers.

In pouring rain and driving wind, Fitzhenry had the toughest job of all at the back.

He defused of a number of towering kicks that saved his side from a fifth straight defeat.

"I don't read the forums, there's always someone who's got something bad to say about me," he said.

"I think everyone goes through that. But I just do my job and I feel like I'm part of the team and that's it. I don't read them so I don't really care.

"(The weather on Friday night) was just one of those things. The ball is going to be slippery and they're going to test you out. You've just got to do your best, I was lucky it went my way.

"Taking some of those kicks was important. I drop the ball there and they get another set on our line."

Sheens said supporters who continually attack Fitzhenry were put to shame as the makeshift number one lodged in his claim for a permanent posting at full-back.

"Fitzhenry had a great game at the back, he's been criticised heavily amongst fans, who call themselves fans. They give him plenty, but you try and catch a ball in that (Friday's conditions), he did great," Sheens said.

"Fitzhenry took a ball there that I don't think too many would, one of those high balls with the wind behind the kicker. It was a screamer and he swallowed it."

After two years with Hull KR in England, Fitzhenry returned to Tigertown hoping his experience could help Wests to its first final series since 2005.

Rumours during the week suggested Canberra were interested in his services for next year, but Fitzhenry said he has not spoken to anyone.

He is hoping the Tigers have now put their embarrassing loss to South Sydney behind them and, whether it is at full-back or elsewhere, the 30-year-old is determined to see Wests build together back-to-back wins.

"Especially at this time of year. If you want to make a run to the semis, you've got to start getting back to back wins," he said.

I agree that some of the abuse perhaps goes too far, but that is out of frustration more than anything.

What I am concerned about is the fact that our coach has come out and accused people that have spent their hard earned on memberships of not being "true fans".

I am also concerned that our coach actually obviously reads these forums and feels the need to inflate his tyres after ONE ACCEPTABLE performance from his favourite player.

Cysquatch summed it up perfectly.

Yes Hybrid I agree on that….point taken...I feel that way as well...about memberships...

More importantly.....It shows though that there is Real pressure there....

Now Sheens has proven by his response IMO that perhaps finally he realises the pressure is on...

Shows his human side....which for a while doubted he had...

While critsizing fans is dumb...I look at it as positive...

Great game to the Fitz. He should only get better as the season goes on. He has played an important key role for this squad with so many injuries hitting the team so early in the year. But his experience is what stopped the WT from losing their 5th straight.

You've been saying that since 2003.

This isn't the first time he's done it, he also said it about Morris last year, that one was a nice jab at the fans as he started his now annual September holiday. To have a coach come out and accuse your own supporters of not being real fans is just pathetic.

It just shows how completely out of touch he is with the people that actually matter and just proves how arrogant and pig headed the man is.

How was Fitzhenry in the other 10 games we played this year Tim? He was crap, that's what he was. One game that he isn't crap in and he comes out with that utter garbage of an article. Why wasn't that written after the Roosters game if Tim was so concerned about peoples comments on an Internet forum?

Anyway, if Fitzhenry plays like he did in the second half for the rest of the year I'll happily stop cringing each time his name is on the team sheet each Tuesday.

But perhaps Tim should be reminded that the supporters who buy memberships, spend money on merchandise and even those that pay for their tickets at the gate effectively pay his salary and for what he has dished up in the past five years he should be handing most of it back.

**Sheens said supporters who continually attack Fitzhenry were put to shame as the makeshift number one lodged in his claim for a permanent posting at full-back.**

Well there goes Mullaney's chances of getting a run this year.

Tim's getting carried away about one win from 5 in the last 6 weeks (1 bye).

I thnk he should have waited till they were 4 wins from 5 before coming out like that.

He's gonna cop it in the following weeks if we start lossing again and Fitzy goes back to his normal performances.

While last night was good to get a win, i'm not convinced of anything yet, but good team effort and i hope they've turned the corner.

On the 'so called fan' comment - not his smartest move. I'm not impressed being called that for questioning what is obviously a strange decision to have Fitzhenry in the team every week and the back in the bench.

Agree 110% HT.

The thing thats even more pathetic about his initial outburst at the fans re: J-Mo…..Sheens twisted it into a FANS v MORRIS, where in actual fact the fans were criticising Sheens himself for buying him as a half and playing him as a half.

I read somewhere a long time ago a very very well respected figure in league stated when you start listening to the fans then it is indeed time to go....just forget who it was.

Sheens just lost a few members for this club I think.

Fitzhenry was ordinary last night. He had two good bomb takes and that was it.

People who are giving him credit for the hit he took from Cross and still holding onto the ball are kidding themselves. Hodgo copped that almost every time he went up to take a kick and I can't remember him ever losing it as a result of the hit. Fitz holds onto it once and everyone is creaming over him…

He also made an incredibly rookie error as well when he fielded a kick and ran over the sideline. That's the worst things a fullback/winger could do in that position (bar handing it back to the attacking player and letting them score).

Amazing that sheens can see all this criticism of his dud players, he must also see all the criticism of himself, but he never mentions that- theres the ego again.
Tim- Im sure you'll read this at some point, youve lost this member, great work chump.
