@jirskyr why?

I would expect if any rugby player took to twitter to slander Christians and say, for example, that they should all be burned alive (a secular analogy to "burning in hell"), RA would similarly take action against them.

It's "offensive stuff" that is the problem, not simply stuff against homosexuals.

So offensive talk gets banned?

The thing that really ticks me off about this whole affair is that if the Grand Mufti or some prominent person from the Muslim community publicly espoused similar views to Folau we wouldn't hear a squeak about it from anyone, especially in the media. It would be quickly swept under the rug and forgotten about immediately because everyone is too 'scared' to disagree with them. That is the whole hypocrisy of it all.

@diedpretty

Name me one hypocritical Christian teaching. Just one. I've spent a lifetime searching for one, so please set me on the right path.

I'll be waiting patiently.

@jirskyr Nah, mostly leftwing atheist loonbags... those same handwringers who complain about their own white privilege.

So a thread about one guy's instagram posts draws in all the unwashed filth and turns it into a Christian-bashing thread.

Great work guys, never let an opportunity pass to show your true bigoted colors.

I worry for the future of this country when there is contraversy about how an individual chooses to fund his legal right to a review of his termination. My personal view is the ARU and interest groups are concerned the ruling of the independent body will go against the outcome they seek.

Well when that individual earns millions a year and owns 7 million dollars worth of property, of course people are going to raise their eyebrows. It's a bit of a hide isn't it?

I don't think it's the actual teaching, as much as it's some of the teachers they may be calling out as hypocritical and lets face it there have been a few religious hypocrites over the years, as there is in any realm of teaching really. If a person is going to preach the law at others then they will eventually fall victim to breaking that law themselves, at some stage, because that's our fallen human nature. None of us can keep God's laws perfectly and that's why Jesus came. Thank God for his grace!

@Spud_Murphy Of course Christian people are hypocrites.

But this bloke made a clear statements that the religion itself is hypocritical, so i want him to explain that lie.

Fair enough, should be interesting.

We live in a democracy and those who choose to donate do so voluntarily. It does not matter what mechanism is used as long as it is lawful. The amount of money that had been donated in a very short period of time on the GoFundMe page signifies strong support for his stance. This ver public display of support is not consistent with the narrative interest groups opposing Folau want publicised.

Someone posted a few pages ago that in 2015 GoFundMe changed their guidelines so no one could raise money for their legal fees. So what of that?

If this is the case, then I do have to agree why did GFM allow the egg boy legal fund to go ahead? It clearly stated on the egg boy fundraiser that it was for "legal fees and more eggs." Unless there is a clear distinction between this and Folau's case GFM could have painted themselves into a corner here.

As said earlier, if people wanted to donate to him that was fine. If Christians, freeze peach champions etc wanted to donate to a millionaires legal costs that was fine. At the end of the day while the hilarity of it all was enjoyable, they are all free to make their own choices on how they want to spend their money.

My final thought on this is that I worked for a major supermarket in the recent past and it was made extremely clear that social media activity that could result in negative publicity and/or outcomes for the employer could result in termination. If Folau thinks he's wronged, that's fine, the legal system is there to seek fair adjudication. If he wants people to fund his legal costs and they wish to partake, that's fine as long as no one is coerced. If it all goes against him in the end he'll have to realise that while he clings to this mortal coil he's answerable to more than just his creator.

@GNR4LIFE Egg Boy had no such difficulties with his fund raising. It appears the conditions vary according to how vocal special interest groups are. $750,000 plus in less than three days would make them very vocal.😃 In any case, he has a new fund raising page and there is little doubt all this opposition has done is galvanize support for Folau.

@gallagher Not offended, simply calling out hypocrisy rather than cheering it on like you have been.

So your offended by me, the woke brigade awaits.
Do you believe in adam and eve? That we all come from them?
