Foran ruled out for NRL season

Just three days after Brad Arthur claimed his side had hit rock bottom, Parramatta plunged to new depths on Tuesday when skipper Kieran Foran was ruled out for the rest of the NRL season. In a massive blow for the embattled club, the star playmaker will miss the remainder of the year after being forced to undergo shoulder surgery. Adding further pain for Eels fans, Foran's halves replacement Brad Takairangi will be sidelined for four weeks with a hamstring strain.

Foran left the field in Parramatta's 20-18 win over Newcastle on Monday night and the club confirmed on Tuesday he would have surgery.

The loss of the New Zealand Test playmaker is yet another body blow for the club after lurching this year from crisis to crisis.
 
They're a broken team. Did everything humanly possible to lose that game last night. They'll win 3-4 more games tops this yr imo.

enough to beat the knights to the spoon.
Foran is a massive loss, seems like he's pretty busted of late.
Shame though cos he's an amazing player.
 
It's a real bummer what has happened to Parramatta this season. They were playing so well before it all hit the fan, would've been interesting to see how far they could've gone in the Premiership race. I really feel for their fans - we would all have a conniption if it was happening to our mob.
 
Probably a blessing in disguise for Foran. Sometimes work exacerbates your problems at home. I do feel for him though, he seems like such a well grounded bloke.

As for Parra the club, I feel for their fans. Whether it's through sincerity or sheer incompetence, it seems like our club is above cap systematic cheating and I am thankful for that.

Legally not yet Spartan

They must be spending a hell of a lot of money to defend an unwinnable case otherwise

It wouldn't surprise me if the NRL has not dotted the I's and crossed the T's legally

Seems like a really good bloke too. Must be kicking himself after all the rubbish he went through during the whole signing process. A union destined for failure it seems (to date)

I wonder how the NRL will react if they lost, surely that's the cap blown out of the water and its a free for all?
 
like him as a player and wish him all the best. Tough as nails and appears a good bloke

2016 is a year he would chose to forget.
 
Anyone else think his career is ruined by going to Parra?
Will never play finals footy again….

Feel for the guy, champion player and bloke.
