Four point game / a literal 'must win'...

I know it gets thrown around a bit, but this week is literally a 'must win' game.

If you look at the ladder and draw, the top 6 teams will all very likely make it. The Bunnies have a tough run home, but Bennet and their back line = you would expect them to make it.

The team who really are vulnerable however are Newcastle. Badly injury hit and in a slump...but they have a pretty soft run home. Titans, Dogs, Warriors and Dragons all on their schedule. In all likelihood, they will limp into the top 8 with their run home ***

Currently...they are three clear of us.

After the game they will either 5 clear and there is no chance we catch them...especially with their draw compared to ours (ours is brutal).

OR

They will be 1 point ahead and, at the very least, close enough we can apply some pressure.

Four point game / must win.

Hopefully the players are up for it.

***Noting, of course, we lost to the Titans and Warriors and it would be helpful if Newcastle were to do so also.

it is so depressing every year we end up in this situation
we need Broncos to kick into gear and wun some games peg some teams back

They are the wild card for us...if they can beat Souths. Would have also been 'very' helpful if they could have held on v the Sharkies.

Noting, of course, that we have only ourselves to blame yet again (Titans / Warriors)

I hope we win, but from here on out it's about seeing what this playing roster can offer. Keen to see young AJ have a crack, looking forward to seeing a repentant but fired up BJ, and intrigued as to how Brooks will go at 6. Hoping MBye can have a dig at 9, at least not be terrible, and interested to see who in the pack will stand up without Twal there. Aloiai looking at you.

Cool, bonus points, so will be back in the eight with a win.

No, we will be outside.

But 1 point outside rather than 3 (8th) and 5 points to 7th.

I dunno. Most years we are still optimistic at this stage.

Every year you are right, we lose the games we should win and end up in this situation, the Titans and Warriors games are going to burn us as usual, we are still a mentally weak club

Honestly, at this stage I’d rather we be no hope of making the 8 three weeks out from season’s end than having to go through the same old crap of being on the cusp, having to win ‘must win’ games, which we inevitably lose and then waiting for other results to go our way - I’m over it.

we all have doctorates in Mathematics by now

Broncos & Warriors win this round we can move into 8 (of course assuming we win!). However I too am with others in finding this exhausting every year we are forced to rely on other teams in order to remain a chance.

Warriors V manly will be a stretch but I have some hope Brisbane can cause an upset on the Bunnies (who I believe are just stumbling through this season so far) Oh the joys of being a tigers fan...

It,s a tough scene Vinnie. But we'll get through this together

It’s the sort of game we win, backs against the wall, nobody gives us a fighting chance. Then we come crashing back down to earth with a inept performance against a bottom 4 side next week, rinse repeat

I think this thinking is wrong, I've been saying it all year. There are no "games you should win", it's about turning up every week and focusing on your consistency of performance. If that happens, the wins come; and you don't rehash your losses, you learn from them.

The NRL isn't such a polar competition that the bottom-ranked sides aren't competitive. Bulldogs for instance have only won 2 matches but 6 of their losses have been by less than 6 points, including both losses to Parramatta. Bulldogs went on an admirable winning run last year despite finishing 12th. Sharks are probably going to make the 8 and they've lost 3 matches to teams currently placed 8 or lower (Souths, Tigers, Dragons).

The real games you need to watch for, as per the OP, are the matches against your similarly-placed opposition. A loss against Souths or Knights effectively a 4-point turnaround at this time of year.

I don't buy it, if we have any designs on a top 8 finish we don't lose to Titans and Warriors, same thing every year, and we finish bottom 8 because we deserve to

Next week knights play many and the week after manly play Souths so if we win this week and next we will be able to jump
At least 1 of them were still alive here this is my third full yeah of following the tigers religiously I’m not sure how use all have done it for so long haha go the mighty tigers
