It is all about retaining depth and growing it.

Have as many talented guys as we can afford pushing for spots and giving their all.

Indeed but the mentality of the modern day footballer is to spit the dummy if they are not picked and demand a release (granted often driven by player managers)

The Pom - Very good team but you forgot the wasted back on the bench. No way Sheens will go for 4 forwards.

I would retire Heighington off and move Fulton to second row and Anasta to lock and put Humble or Bodene Thompson on the bench to replace Fulton.

I am very happy with the new signings.

Groat might find it hard to get a spot in the NRL.

Interesting what happens with Moltzen?

That can be the case Alf but I think all of these guys know coming in that there are spots on the line to be earned.

Iosefa is the perfect 14 imo
i really hope he gets the 14 for the rest of the year

Thompson and Pettybourne are great signings too

What do you guys think, do these signings spell the end for Utai, Tuqiri, Moors and Heighnington?

The first players yes, but i don't think Heighno will be moved on, I think the other person to go with be Moltzen. Generally happy with these signings, there's some good size, aggression which will help the Tigers forward pack, and Nofoaluma could be playing FG in 12 months if he focuses properly.

Have these signings addressed our weakest positions in the spine??? Nope..!!! We need a halfback and fullback….poor recruitment IMO

We have a very talented no1 in the sick bay and our no7 is Benji, that will not change. Humble,Moltzen and Miller could all play the role well but the way Sheens has the team set up Benji is the seven. Like many people I have my doubts over the set up but Iam sure Sheens has some very good reasons for keeping Benji in that role.

As for the signings good solid fgraders without being world beaters but the kid from the u20s was the top signing, he has talent and their were plenty of other clubs looking at him

I love the signings. Well done WT. I think the timing of the announcement is perfect. At a time that we're on a roll, also putting everyone on notice.
To the people bagging our club on the signings, offer suggestions on who you would sign, apart from the games superstars that we can all identify.

Can't mean anything else but goodbye to all of them…. IMO all are either past it or can't cut it... So I guess well see cronulla pick them up!

Good signings, Moltzen will still be with us for the next few years, Lotti & Moors & Utai will be gone i think & Heighington who knows as contracts seem to mean nothing these days but i would like to see him stay next year. These signings give us good depth & we have some good kids coming through.

Some good pick ups, we need them to step up right away and fill the shoes of Gareth Ellis. However signing 2 young back rowers may suggest Dwyer won't be back anytime soon.

hes gone imo moltzen,we have no room

likely side will look like this
1.Tedesco
2.Nofaluma/Korolbete
3.Lawrence
4.Ayshford
5.Ryan
6.Sironen
7.Marshall
8.Woods
9.Farah
10.Galloway
11.Blair
12.Fulton
13.Anasta

14.Losefa
15.Murdoch
16.Pettybourne
17.Thompson/Heightnigton

18.Groat
19.Humble
20.Reddy
21,Nofoaluma/Korolbete
22.Miller
23.Thompson/Heightnigton

thats a good forward pack and a much better backline

I'm still not liking this season much but I think we might be starting to see the future planning coming in. We appear to be trying to build a mobile unit that moves away from the four prop rotation; it'll be big minutes from Woods with Galloway possibly the only other specialist prop picked, then Pettybourne, Blair, Murdoch-Masila and - if still around - Bell as in-game cover. With a mobile, ball-playing pack and playmakers at 9 and 7 (Marshall) we can afford to let a new 6 and 1 play themselves in. Anasta is a kind of super-utility, who can fit in anywhere in the back row, five-eighth or even full back at a push. Basically he'll get picked every game but injuries and form will dictate where.

I don't know if it'll work, but at least I can see the logic.

I think the timing is strange,on the day of origin 1,could have waited till friday.

Wasnt Bodene put through Keebra Park System while on a Wests Tigers Scholarship? If so, its sad we had to pay to get him back…

Notice the majority of our signings are players we don't see coming. Theres never any threads on these players with people speculating, they just seem to pop up out of nowhere. Pretty happy with Pettybourne. He'll add some mongrel. His record worries me a little, he's good for a suspension. If Iseafa is signed till the end of next yr, where does that leave Politoni?
