Fulton

I think we do need abit of a cleanout. Paytens body will force him into retirement and take up the coaching option he has in his contract. Thats why Folkes signed with Dragons. We get steamrolled by opposition packs. Hopefully we sign Blair. We will need to release some players though. My thoughts are Moors, Flanagan, Utai, Daniella, Fulton and I already mentioned Payten. Mckinnon is geeting on as well. If Gibbs goes it wont be the end of the world but we will need more grunt out of Fifita in defence. Looking to next year my 17 would be Brown, Lote, Lawrence, Ayshford, Ryan, Benji, Lui or Moltzen, Heighno, Ellis, Blair, Galloway, Farah, Gibbs. reserves Murdoch, Woods, Dwyer, Fifita.

Fulton can defend like a demon and run a great line. The problem is that he is a small forward and he can sort of get lost out there.

When the rest of the forwards are dominating he really helps out. It is times like last night where we need him to make an impact and he doesn't that it is a concern.

I don't know what to think of him - if he is cheap he could be a good option at starting lock forward.

Would he better off the bench or at centre?

I wonder how he'd go at centre. The problem is he'd be like Ayshford - slow.

Does anyone actually see Fulton getting a jersey when all our forwards are available?

8.Gibbs
9.Farah
10.Galloway
11.Ellis
12.Dwyer
13.Heighington

14.Woods
15.Fifita
16.BMM
17.Schirnak
18.Payten.
19.Fulton

fulton is a decent player, not great, not bad, just decent. Can't imagine being too upset if he left the club, there a plenty of better backrowers out there.

Bye Bye Fulton, Gibbs, and Payten

Seriously once we announce the signing of Blair I see our pack next year as

8\. Galloway
9.Farah
10\. Woods
11\. Blair
12\. Ellis
13\. Heighno

14\. Fifita
15\. BMM
16\. Schirnack
17\. Whichever "Utility" player is the flavor of the week!!

It is difficult to see him holding down a position once all our players are back unless Sheens puts him on the bench to cover forwards and backs but that would see Beau go so who knows  It wasn't his fault that WTs lost last night but he wasn't that great either IMO.

Thing about FUlton is he does a lot of defence. But you can sign someone who does alot of defence who can actually run the ball too

I feel sorry for Fulton - after all he had to do all his tackling and cover Dwyers arm grab missed tackles at the same time…

I like Fulton but way too small for the forwards.

Should talk to Luke Lewis and get some tips how to bulk up.

For our best chances to win the comp Fulton is not the answer and won't be sad
if he lines up for Cronulla.

Gibbs should be kept and used in the second row.

Maybe time for Heightington to go as well.

Time WT had a big pack like the following;

Galloway
Farah
Woods
Gibbs
Blair
Ellis

BMM
Dwyer
Fifita
Groat or Begovich

No room for Fulton, Patyen or Heightington for 2012

Ayshfords not slow.

He is not exactly the fastest centre running around though is he.

No he is not. His defence is getting worse as well. Out of the side or into the lock position.

I said in another forum, that we need another centre and another winger. Maybe even two centres. There is no guarantee that Lawrence will ever return. Remember Mr T?

That young winger/fullback from the Warriors would be ideal for a start. I am not sure about anyone else who may be available. Reddy from the Eels is also on the outer with his club. Not sure about him though.

Any thoughts? With Blair coming we have abundant forwards but we do need some speedy backs and a fully fit fullback.

Our outside backs have been shown up for how really good they are with Lawrence out of the side. Nothing against Ayshford, his a solid player, but I think alot of people got overexcited by him at the end of last season (People calling him as an origin contender??? what the…).

Our attack has always been left side dominant. The amount of tries and breaks scored down the left has always been significantly higher on the left. Yet people still thought Ayshford was this world breaking centre.

Now without Lawrence in the side, we go left and we look garbage, we go right and we look garbage. Noone in our outside backs looks threatening at all. Utai is good for metres at least. But Brown is no more than a very solid player who does little things right (defends, takes bomb, positions himself well), but he is not a threatening player. Blake Ayshford is the same thing. He generally defends well, but theres no flare about him. I like him, and would try him elsewhere but long term I dont see him there. We need a centre who can run at the line at a bit of pace and look threatening. Maybe a long shot, but with Tuquiri fit I would consider him there, a big hard runner and it would see him getting more ball.

Even with Lawrence back, we need another centre, another outside back. It was very costly towards the end of the season. Dont get me wrong, Ayshford did a job, but come that semi final we were again very reliant on one side of the field. If you have options either side it really changes the whole dynamic of the side.

At the moment, we have nothing whatever side we go and are just relying on Benji/Robbie to pull somthing out etc.

no room for dwyer (not yet anyway), rhino lucky to be on interchange.

😱pen_mouth: are you serious

yeah i think he should be on the interchange as our utility player when we are at full strength. i have mentioned centre before if we have injuries there. he can run good lines, he is strong enough and is probably fast enough to play centre, and his passing game is fine so he will be able to take advantage of overlaps. he has good covering defense. i dont blame sheens letting fulton play big minutes when we have our best defenders not playing because of injury

i'd have fulton before schirnack because its good if one of our 2nd rowers are a utility type player incase we get an injury in the backline or if farah gets injured

You can't lose his utility value . He can be a back up at hooker ,second row , lock Half back or Five eight . Probably be a good fill in at centre if we needed someone off the bench . Players like that don't grow on trees you know and we have one contracted until 2013 . Keep him at the expense of someone else please Sheensy
