Joined WT in 2006 & has played 132 games in 8 years-thats about 16-17 games average per season in 26 rounds .Add trials plus Foundation Cups etc etc-he's playing at little more than 50 % of games eligable.
Not a great advertisement for his endurance.
Hope it can change,but…

Trials are not counted when calculating such statistics. So not sure how you come to 50%.

I think you would find many players have similar averages. It also looks worse because he missed a lof games last year. Take out last year and his average is quote decent.

My problem with Gal is the timing of when he becomes unavailable for us year after year. He hits the beginning month or so well but when the frenzy is over and the top sides settle into the grind of the winter months where winning ugly is just as important as anything he more often than not is missing for extended parts or is playing well below peak form through injury. This 3 month period is where the experienced and top players settle into their rhythm and cover for the younger guys who struggle with inconsistency. This is where we need a full deck in our pack and is also unfortunately in recent seasons where we havent had one.
We need him to aid Woodsy, Blair, Farah and Fults in encouraging the young guys to ensure that when the frenzy begins again at the back end of the season, we dont need a 9 game win streak to make the 8.

I think this will be the year for Galloway to show that he is truley past his injuries. 15+ games from him will make a huge difference

Think were all in agreement about our hopes for KG in 2014,but even at 16/17 games average per season its still low cf to most other props.
eg Warea hargraves averages 21 games per season(with quite a few suspensions in there too!),Kite 23,Fifita 23(at Sharks)..even our own Woods averages 21.
Hopefully KG can turn this around,& as someone else said earlier be available when it counts

The reality is that he's in his ninth season with us and while there's been periods of stock standard consistency, he's a) Not going to improve and b) Is among the journeymen props of the game. Someone with his physical attributes should be dominating the ruck area in both attack and defence, yet he rarely imposes himself. Watch his depth in attack, the speed at which he takes the ball and his lack of body height in contact. It's a shame, I'd love to see him succeed, but 2014 will be more of the same style of performance he's given us for eight seasons

One thing he brings consistently that none of our other forwards bring including woods.

Is the fact that he never gets driven back… Always draws 2 or 3 defenders. But the most important thing is he always makes meters allowing our backs to reap the rewards.

Woods is great and makes great meters, but occasionally can be driven back, and loses momentum for the next play.

Galloway whilst not flashy, brings consistency. I still believe his best years are ahead, being a seasoned senior prop in the nrl now.

After Gareth Ellis left Galloway is the only guy we've had who could actually stop someone in their tracks.
With a bit of grunt now coming through we need him on deck to pave the way for the young guys and be an inspiration.

Id have to say this year Galloway actually has some decent props in his corner… so hopefully he wont have to carry the side as much this year.

We've been hard on big Keith I feel. Plenty of forwards come good as they get older and he could be one of them.

I've never doubted Keithys effort on the field. It's just his inability to crack 20games a year. My mates call him Kathy and it stirs me but every year he'll manage an 8-10 week injury.

Carry the side?

Other way round. There is no argument that he is injured too often. You can't carry a side from the grandstand

Galloway has been our STRONGEST Go forward player of the last 8 years. His tackling has been as good as Payten and Ellis !

So why do we never win without him… ??? the problem is we cannot cover him when injured or suspended.... we seem to only buy up and coming props who cant play 15mins...
