Think you may be right smeg, Stewart is a good player, his ball playing and running game will suit the mobile forwards of the blues....plus he's been there before, a debutant in a decider could be rissky.

I think you misrepresent my stance on the issue. This year I've given up taking an active support of NSW because I don't think the selection is fair or balanced. If we were running last losing every game by 20 points I wouldn't complain but that's not the case. I'm just sick of every Manly player getting a chance at origin and teams like WT getting squat. Galloway getting a spot will demonstrate that things might be changing. So it's really more to do with principle than individuals.
Nothing to do with bandwagons at all. I'd rather support a NSW team losing but with a fair selection policy. It took until this year before I reached this point.

HE'S big, mean and ready to take his Origin chance with open arms.
Keith Galloway yesterday moved a step closer to his Origin dream as Dragons prop Trent Merrin was cut from coach Ricky Stuart's 19-man Blues squad.
As medical staff continue to monitor key personnel, Glenn Stewart is still a chance to play, while Jarryd Hayne, Michael Jennings (ankle) and Brett Morris can not all fit on the left side of the field.
Galloway, 25, is now on the cusp of becoming the first Tigers prop since Steve Roach in 1991 to lead NSW into Origin battle.
"Big Red" yesterday spoke of his long-time desire to charge into battle at State of Origin level - and it could finally happen on Wednesday. "Naturally I'd love to play," Galloway said.
"Origin is such a physical game and being a front-row forward, that is part of the game that you love.
"When you talk about how good rugby league is, State of Origin is the pinnacle.
"In a way it is on a higher pedestal than international football. Everyone in the country will look forward to watching it.
"I have my fingers crossed but obviously it's not my call. It's a 20-man squad. I will accept any decision but would love to play."
NSW named just two specialist props for Origin II - Trent Merrin and Tim Mannah - but may opt for more size in the Suncorp Stadium decider.
And Galloway is the man after a storming season with the Tigers.
"As they say, State of Origin would be like a dream come true," Galloway said.
"It's been awesome mate, being in camp, getting to know everyone and the training.
"Whether I play is one thing but just being here and being among it gives me aspirations to try and crack it for a spot again.
"I guess I will just have to wait and see what the coaches think."
NSW will start $2.30 outsiders with Queensland $1.60 favourites. But the Blues are no longer in fear of Queensland.
The Maroons were well and truly whacked in Origin II and NSW travel north tomorrow ready to secure their first series triumph since 2005, which was also under coach Ricky Stuart.
NSW skipper Paul Gallen said Stuart would finalise his side tomorrow. "I don't think he's going to name it until Sunday, until we go up to Brisbane," Gallen said.
"He's giving everyone the best chance that he can to make it and obviously see how training goes over the next couple of days."

Big red feels right at home with the Blues, thanks to some familiar faces

He may be a newcomer to Origin, but Keith Galloway is already well known to many of his NSW teammates, writes Josh Rakic.
TIGERS enforcer Keith Galloway is set to live out a childhood dream with good mate Ben Creagh on Wednesday if the two reunite in Blues colours for the first time since representing NSW Under-19s together.
The ''two reds'' have roomed together in the build-up to the deciding State of Origin match and Galloway said he couldn't think of a better way to make his debut than alongside long-time friend and junior rep teammate Creagh.
''We played NSW 17s and 19s together and Junior Kangaroos,'' Galloway, 25, said. ''But this is the first time we've played together since back then, so it's pretty awesome to be back together. Having him here feels like the old days a bit, so it's pretty exciting.
''I'm actually rooming with Benny - the two reds in together. It's not discrimination but I think it's probably something close to that,'' he said with a laugh. ''Benny and I played a lot together and it's pretty comforting to be rooming with him because he knows what Origin is all about.''
And while Galloway is a rookie at Origin level and some critics have questioned his inclusion, the Brighton Seagulls junior is no stranger to his teammates, having played with close to the entire Blues forward pack at various stages of his career.
''I played with Mick Ennis in junior rep sides, too, so it's almost a reunion for me,'' Galloway said. ''He's an awesome bloke and I can't wait to play with him if I get the chance. I played with Birdy [Greg Bird] and Gal [Paul Gallen] and Beau Scott at the Sharks, too, so I've pretty much played with the whole forward pack. It feels great, being back together with everyone. I'd love to get the chance to run out onto the field with them.''
Especially Gallen, who Galloway rates as the best forward in the world and the most inspirational player he's ever played with.
''Gal is that inspirational, even just in camp,'' he said. ''I've known him for a long time and to see how hard he does everything - the way he trains and does his extras. He's unbelievable and it's not a surprise to me to see where he is at now. He's one of the best forwards in the world. He plays it tough and he plays it rough, but he's not a dirty player or person. He just does everything for his teammates.''
Galloway made his NRL debut besides Gallen at age 17 with the Cronulla Sharks, so the 25-year-old would be considered a veteran if it weren't for his birth certificate.
Having missed out on representing Scotland - from where his father relocated in his early 20s - at the 2008 World Cup through injury, Galloway is best remembered for something he can't actually remember himself: the ugly king-hit from John Hopoate six years ago that left him out cold on the field and Hopoate on the sidelines for 17 weeks.
It effectively ended Hopoate's career, but Galloway said there were no hard feelings between the two - especially as he and Hopoate's star son Will have bled for each other at City-Country level.
He hopes that after 19 years playing, all of them at prop, he will be remembered for something else come 10pm Wednesday night.
''I've been a prop since my first game at the Brighton Seagulls, when I was six years old. I've never really played any other position - maybe a bit of back row but that didn't last long,'' he said.
''I grew up in Beverley Park in the St George area. That's where my old man raised us after he came over from Scotland … Him and Mum weren't really that into league but when my older brother started playing I just followed his line and wanted to do whatever he was doing.
''I was pretty big for my age groups coming up, and sort of made all the age representative teams - all in the same position I am now … I've always been a front-row forward. HAVING already recommended Keith Galloway to Ricky Stuart previously, Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens was quick to endorse his front-rower as a NSW player yesterday, saying: ''If he gets a chance, he won't let anyone down.''
With Stuart, the Blues coach, culling St George Illawarra prop Trent Merrin from his squad yesterday, it appears he is prepared to take his latest gamble by handing Galloway his Origin debut in the series decider on Wednesday night.
While Sheens admitted it would be a ''big challenge'' for Galloway to play his first Origin on such a stage - the Blues are hoping to avoid a sixth straight series defeat in Maroons five-eighth Darren Lockyer's last interstate contest - he said the 25-year-old was up to it.
''I've got no doubt Keith will handle it,'' Sheens said. ''I'm not certain what Ricky's going to do, but Keith will keep the intensity going [if he comes on from the interchange]. He's a good go-forward player, and the rest of the team will be able to work off the back of him.
''He'll get a quick play-the-ball and he's strong in the middle defensively. Most tall blokes haven't got the best lateral speed, but Keith is very good on the ground and moving sideways.''
With Merrin leaving the Blues' camp yesterday, freeing him up to play for the Dragons against Newcastle tomorrow, Stuart looks set to blood Galloway, unless he takes an even more radical approach to Origin football for the do-or-die clash at Suncorp Stadium.
The Dragons front-rower played in games one and two - but with a combined 37 minutes in those encounters he couldn't force his way into the final 17 for the third match of the series. With Galloway the only specialist prop available to Stuart in his now 19-man squad other than Tim Mannah, the Tigers player is now set to play his first Origin match, which is being billed as the biggest in the interstate contest's history.
Stuart will either go into the game with Galloway playing off the bench, or with just one specialist front-rower - notwithstanding Paul Gallen, who produced a superb performance from the position in game two.
Manly's Glenn Stewart is the other forward option available to Stuart from his extended squad, but it would be almost unthinkable for the coach to go into an Origin match with no front-rowers on his interchange.
''It'll be a big challenge [for Galloway],'' Sheens said. ''They'll come straight up the middle at him, but he'll handle it. I recommended him to Ricky - and I wouldn't have recommended him unless I thought he was going well. His actions on the field warranted the run.

Blues back-rower Greg Bird said while he felt for Merrin, he was confident in Galloway - or Stewart for that matter. He maintained Stuart was yet to tell the players who would be starting and who would not be.
''Big Chubbsy [Galloway] has been great for the Tigers for a few years now,'' Bird said. ''I think everyone who's come into the team has slipped straight into the rhythm of what we were trying to create at the start, which is mates and mateship, and when we're on the paddock, we train hard. We've got our goals and everything based on that one thing of bringing the title back.''
The Blues trained yesterday, with all players bar Kurt Gidley taking part in the vast majority of the session. Centre Michael Jennings (ankle), five-eighth Jamie Soward (hamstring) and back-rowers Beau Scott (knee) and Ben Creagh (ankle) all ran freely.
Gidley did some light running away from the group but is still expected to play next Wednesday.

The Origin Arena is where Legends are made… Hopefully this will be the stepping stone for Keith to become the Premier Prop in the Competition that we have always hoped he will be.
