Galloway offers nothing

I hate to say this as I've been a big fan of the guy for the last few years but watching him this season only reiterates how little he offers. He lacks the aggression that woods and taupau bring, doesn't break the line, usually backs in to tackles, has had plenty of times the last couple years to bag a try and seems to lack execution, cant recall a time recently where he made a great offload.

I feel like he's just there to make up numbers and more young forwards should be getting game time in his place.

If someone can convince me otherwise please do…
 
In before the storm.

Before the season kicked off i'd have agreed. But blood nut has been having a real dig this yr. That boneheaded mistake that cost us our momentum against the Dogs and the catalyist that started theirs that won them the game aside.
 
An injury free Keithy has picked up his game this year. Look at the stats, he is doing his job and will only continue to improve as the season unfolds.

He's not an elite prop these days by any stretch of the imagination but every team needs an experienced forward to do the dirty work. Besides the Woodsman and Halatau I'm not sure we even have another forward with 50 NRL games (hooker excluded). He's not flashy but he's been fine this year so far.
 
He is getting through his meters better then last year, but no doubt his runs lack that oomph that they used to. But yeah a guy his size should never be backing into tackles.

I agree. Plus he takes ages to get back up…
 
I agree his stats show hes chewing through the meters and hit ups, I just cant stand seeing such a big guy who used to tear through and couldnt be put down, get stopped so easily now and couldn't look less intimidating.
 
You lost me at the first sentence BT,when you stated he was poor this year, particularly as you related it to the recent past when he carried persistent foot injuries.

The guy is simply a every effective middle man that would be the second prop picked each and every week, the first being a current international of course.

Sorry pal.But you are way wrong when you say Galloway takes forever to get back up he is actually very good at getting tackled face down and getting a quick play the ball for the team.Our win rate is much much better when Galloway plays.His main problem was the bad foot injury he had last year.Very very hard to make good metres in first grade when you have a debilitating injury.

Each individual brings their own skills to the team, he executes his role and does it well….he takes it forward - end of.

Keith is not as effective as Aaron but he would make the starting side for the majority of clubs.His value is always shown when he is out of the team because the team loses a lot.He would be in any team i picked thankfully the coaching staff see it the same way
 
I don't get why people find the need to bag our consistent performers. Each week Galloway makes big meters and stiffens up our middle in defence. Exactly the like the textbook says.
We are playing structured football. He is a key element to our new game plan.

This is one of the most inaccurate threads I have read this year. Please tell me the last time you saw Galloway back into a tackle? He always takes the line head on and behind Woods is averaging the most metres gained in the forwards. Rarely misses tackles also. This thread is simply bewildering to put it mildly.

How would you go with 3 blokes weighing 100kg plus jumping on you?

I noticed against Parra, Galloway pushed a couple of Parra players out of the way when they were offside and trying to slow our momentum down through the middle. One of them (who didn't see who pushed him) got the sh!ts and turned quickly to try and push the player back. Then he realised it was Galloway and ran away. Funny to watch.

Ask yourself this… How many of the 15 clubs would take him??? More ham half for sure .... Manly would love Keefy

I would crumple like a paper bag but I wasnt suggesting I was a better forward than Keithy, just that I regularly see players like Marty and Aaron and yes forwards in other teams like George Burgess who cant be put down.

Obviously I'm missing some big pluses the guy brings to the table and I like your point Tigerdon about his role in a more structured game. Hadn't thought of it like that.
 
Keith's game has improved heaps from last year and shows he has gotten over the injuries he had last year..Kieth is and always has been the WTs workhorse,he should be given credit where it's due…NRL is tough,players get hurt and it takes time to get over injuries and back into the momentum of playing week to week,Sauce has been solid this year and will get better,I don't think he knows how not to put in 100 percent unless he carries an injury....
