The Wests Tigers are desperately hoping they won't be without two key props for Sunday's massive NRL clash with Parramatta.
>
The Tigers have lost Bryce Gibbs to a knee injury which will sideline him for up to three weeks, while Keith Galloway is no certainty to play at Parramatta Stadium as he recovers from concussion.
>
Sheens was hopeful Galloway, who was named on Tuesday, will make it back.
>
"We're hoping so, but protocols have to be followed and we'll just have to wait and see," he said.
>
Todd Payten has been named to partner Galloway in the front row with two-try hero Andrew Fifita and veteran John Skandalis on the bench.

Geez….Gibbs is a huge loss but to be without Keith as well....

Good to see the club is taking the approprite procautions, hope he plays but if he is ruled out he is ruled out.

Deadset do we ever play parra at full strength? We always lose players when we come up against them

I honestly don't think we have played them at full strength in the past five years. Ridiculous.

Galloway is the softest bloke in the squad, really he's on the Matt Cooper, Steve Matai level.

Glad you are only having a laugh STS. Galloway has copped head knocks in his last 3 games and still managed to play on and bend the line. Would be concerned if you were really calling his toughness into question. I am sure if the coach asked him to play he would, and I also sure there aren't too many tigers fans who would call him the soft to his face.

Galloway is far from soft, he's just injury prone.

After his concussion against Souths, he was excellent in that game when he returned.

Concussion shouldn't be taken lightly.

Surely he'll play. Concussions don't take 2 weeks to recover from. Especially when he was right to continue in the first place. Lawrence suffered worse and played on the weekend. I suppose this means little though as I am not a brain doctor.

On that note, if he doesn't play I expect Al Schirnack to take his spot and play 12 minutes.

I feel for the big fella. The guy is a champion when he's fit, but he's just so injury prone. That said though, being injury prone doesn't make him soft. He's played through concussions and busted hands at points through this season.

Matt Cooper is the epitome of soft. You only need to look at him and he gets injured.

Exactly right HT.

It should be noted that his head trauma was more severe than that of Lawrence. Chris copped a clean blow to the temple whereas Keiths head was whipped backwards into the ground which is a far more severe impact in terms of length of recovery

I think the consecutive concussion thing brings their head-trauma protocols into play. If you fail certain neurological tests they won't play you.

E.g. Rowdy last weekend was ok, but apparently earlier in the week had persistent headaches and some post-game amnesia, hence being in doubt. Farah was similar a few weeks earlier.

But 3 concussions in a row are much more serious.

for those questioning his toughness - Sauce playing with a broken hand this year and with needles for "turf toe" in the latter part of 2008 proves he is as tough and committed as any of our blokes!

my greatest concern about his recent concussions goes back to the hit from Hoppa that almost prematurely ended his career as a youngster at Cronulla. I worry that a brain-injury legacy was created there and I don't believe head-gear would improve his prospects in the long term!

PS - turf toe is as painful as it gets!
