Galloway vs. Fifita

a great rugby league side has atleast 3 dominating front rowers we currently have 2 in fifita and galloway… we r lucky this yr cause our backrow is really helpin us out up there.... i would hate to loose one and cant see why we would have to do so.....

Galloway right now because he has bigger stints than Fifita, and is more level headed.

I think Fifita can/might turn into a Gibbs-style of p[layer, **giving away stupid penalties and making dumb mistakes when frustrated**.

I think fifita was like that earlier in the year but once he got dropped and came back, he has cut a lot of that stupidness out of his game. I think the way he has improved from last year to these past couple weeks is amazing.

Galloway.

Ideally of course the answer would be both. However impact is a small part of the game and can come from many sources. A guy who has been around the traps and learnt from their rich experiences and consistantly churns over 100 metres a game is the absolute essential for any starting prop.

Worst case scenario I would choose Keith and use Dave Fifita

Go watch last weeks game against Parra when Fifita got stepped going for the player without the ball and leaving the player with the ball a clear run to the line, or yesterday when he gave away two cheap penalties, thats the difference between young enthusiasm and experience. I love them both and would have them both in my side to compare at different stages in their careers is unfair.

We need both, if I had to pick I'd go with sauce he is experienced and like Fifita he will improve once he regains confidence and loses injuries.

It wasn't a stupid mistake when fifita got stepped, it was just good play by parra. I only remember one penalty from yesterday and that was when he dived on a loose ball. How is that dumb?

gal is firing good ,but fifita can only get better &better ,he did carve it up last year in the u20's i really think he will carve it up in the semis as well!!

Fifita fell for a dummy against Parra. And while I agree that his improvement is impressive, at the moment Keith has my vote.

Both are integral to our structure but you can't compare their roles.

I'd have both any given day but if had to let one go it would be Fifita because Sauce plays more minutes and makes the metres up the middle where and when it's needed.

Yea it was a stupid mistake, he fell for a dummy and left a gap the size of Sydney Heads against Parra, he takes the ball carrier and theres no try. As for yesterday, diving on that loose ball while the dummy half is there is always going to bring a penalty for not standing square, dumb play. Having said all that he is going great and going to be a superstar and Im glad he's ours (well atm) props dont usually come good til they are late 20's, hes only 21, long way to go.

It was an error of enthusiasm. Still if his outside man was a player with lateral speed and ability to read the game the gap may have been closed

That was Robbie…he was stuffed...

Fifita is, and will always be better than Galloway. As much as people put down Fifita on issues such as weight, fitness etc. the bloke has aggression and understands that a prop's job is to take the ball up and take it up well. Even Blind Freddie could have seen purely based on Sunday's performance that he's a better prop than Galloway.

'Galloway makes metres up the middle where and when it's needed'! Buddy have you been watching the games? He's looking for a bludge every set. See, this is why we struggle to work the ball up field in our own half, big blokes like him bludging and looking for the back rowers to work it up field. And his body height is appalling, precisely the reason he got head-slammed against Souths. Galloway plays 50 unproductive minutes, Fifita plays 20 minutes and makes the most out of it.

 Can you tell me where else we can find a unproductive prop who makes over 100m a game?

We need our back row to do more work to cover for the likes of Payten. He is integral to our structure but not a metre eater. It is why lock is played as a loose forward

Citizen tigercub

Did you see Galloway's 15m charge to the line when Robbie scored…It was cetainly needed...Payten's charge and quick PTB was largely responsible for Fifta's try as well.....

Which of the last 5 games have we struggled to make it out of our own end...I'm curious cause we have made more metres than the other teams I'm sure....

It was when Fifita put a hit on Mannah and then Mannah kind of elbowed him. Fifita wanted to fight but he resisted. Then, Horo got the ball and he dummied to Mannah and Fifita thought he could put another hit on Mannah. He commited himself too early due to inexperience.

So, he turned from a hero (by putting a hit on Mannah) to a villain in one play.

If you honestly believe the above r.e Galloway then you truly have no idea.

My main criticism of Galloway is that he sometimes takes a little longer than others to play the ball. This can slow us down at various times. However, when he gets a quick PTB we generally thrive off it and make quick, good metres.

But to say he's a bludger is ridiculous. Many a time he takes multiple hit ups in a set. FFS the guy made 140 metres on Sunday, exactly when was he bludging?
