You'd think Canberra or Newcastle makes the most sense if Sydney is out.

With the lockdown in Central Coast as well, I'd think Newcastle would be ruled out.


Newcastle is not the Central Coast. Not sure why you think Newcastle would be ruled out.

Isn't there a 50% capacity allowed only throughout NSW?
I understand Newcastle isn't Central Coast but can't imagine such a big event being held less than an hour away from complete lockdown zones. In saying that though, Brisband had theirs last year with 100% capacity.

Newcastle isn't as lockdown effected as the central coast at the moment.
Things may change though.

Some venues are turning away people with Sydney or Central Coast addresses on their I.Ds.

Not sure how keen they are to have people from anywhere rolling up with their germs.

This was always going to happen. It should never have been Newcastle. People were drawing comparisons to Townsville but it is 15 hours away from Brisbane not 1.5 hours like Newcastle is from Sydney.

We're doing OK here compared to Sydney.

I knew they wouldn't open the doors to possibility of people from other areas.

I assume it wouldn't be so easy to say, LOCALS ONLY and that's no guarantee of selling out the stadium....

Either way, saw it coming and happy it's else where.

I as a stupid little fan saw it coming 100% but the Govt and the NRL didn't see it 4 days before the game.
