Game of Golf decides Contract

**HOW A GAME OF GOLF KEPT PROCTOR IN MELBOURNE**

CANBERRA are privately furious at Storm back-rower Kevin Proctor, whom the Raiders believe reneged on a handshake deal with coach Ricky Stuart this week.

In a backflip that would have generated big news if not for Origin I, Proctor is believed to have told Stuart he would accept Canberra’s huge $700,000-a-year offer over dinner in Melbourne on Monday night.

Storm coach Craig Bellamy certainly had that impression after speaking to Proctor later that evening, turning his focus to finding a replacement after the Kiwi requested another day to decide.

That made Bellamy a pleasantly surprised individual when Proctor rang back on Tuesday with news that he’d decided to stay for significantly less money.

In between, the 26-year-old played a round of golf with teammates, including Jesse and Kenny Bromwich. Their friendly hit will now be remembered as the pivotal moment in Proctor’s change of heart.

I think its an interesting insight into the players… To sound out 'mates' before making a final decision tends to lean towards the fact money isn't the only factor involved in these changes.

Seems like Proctor played golf with people who care about the Storm, sadly it seems Tedesco played golf with people who probably don't have that same passion for their club.

Well so Proctor plays golf with team mates in Bromwich and Bromwich who are entrenched in the Storm team and Teddy plays golf with Benji, Moltz and Braith.
If only Teddy sought the advice of Farah, Brooks and co.

If you were to handpick 3 Tigers/ex Tigers who you wouldn't want our ex fullback to play golf with it would be Braith, Benji and Moltzen. It is quite hilarious that this was the case.

Braith - Owed money from the Tigers, hates the fans, wouldn't give a rats …. beyond this year

Benji - Fell out with the club, fell out with the fans, washed up, massive ego, wouldn't care.

Moltzen - Poor bloke just wants to get another 1st grade game. Would not dare disagree with his great mate Benji.

Not bagging these blokes, many people would have come to the same decision. However of the 3 he played golf with 2 wouldn't give a toss about the Tigers and the other is a fullback of sorts.

Moltzen---He was their to just make up the four and I doubt his opinion was sought and if it was it would have been discarded.

I think Tedesco had committed to the Raiders well before Mondays golf game but I am sure his three mates would have reaffirmed his call to leave the tigers
