I have a gardening question ...I have a bush lemon tree ....somehow it has started growing both lemons and oranges and heaps of them

Is it a graft? Sounds like the root stock has grown out and you are getting fruits off the stock as well as the graft.

You should be able to tell from the graft line where they joined the intended tree to the root stock, and anything growing out from under that line is stock tree. Usually stock fruit is inferior to the graft fruit, hence why they grafted it in the first place.

For those inclined.....

Onion weed....anyone have some remedy for removing it from the lawn?

All help would be appreciated

Before you go replacing your whole lawn have a look at your neighbours yards. If they let weeds go unchecked and have onion weed then it'll be back in 12 months time anyway.

@OzLuke When we moved here we had heaps of onion weed in our 2 acre house yard. All we have done since is mitigate the feral cat problem but the weed is gone - Galahs will pull the weed up and leave the bulb lying in the sun, which kills it. Therefore less cats = more birds = less onion weed. Not going to work for you I guess? Sticky weed is our problem and I would happily take the onion weed in exchange.

@jirskyr Normally bush lemon is the root stock. Our Meyer lemon suddenly has big spikes on the lower branches but above the graft. Weird - I blame climate change, let's all panic NOW.

No grafting mate ....wondered if somehow it got cross pollenated , it always has heaps of bees around it .....about 400 metres away someone has oranges

2 heads, 2 fruits, sounds like a Queensland issue.

Well there you go. I thought the petals were a little wide, but otherwise looked pretty similar to the everlasting daisy.

Similar here, though more so the leaves, but as per earlier, I have brown thumb.

Gazania it seems to be @innsaneink

What manure is best for your garden? Chicken, horse, cow, Julian O’Neill or the type created every time Beattie, Greenberg or Annesley open their mouths?
