Gardening Post (Very Boring but Advice Sought)......

@jirskyr Normally bush lemon is the root stock. Our Meyer lemon suddenly has big spikes on the lower branches but above the graft. Weird - I blame climate change, let's all panic NOW.

Same for me - my Meyer lemon has thorns as well, not huge ones, but above the graft. Definitely growing Meyer lemons from the branches. We had a big water shoot a year ago that I was highly suspect about, how quickly it came up and thickened, but it has grown proper lemons as well.

Citrus are all kind of mutts aren't they? All the popular citrus fruits are some mix of the more ancient citrons, pomelos and the original mandarins.

Onion weed, I have that pest in one of my vegie beds and I'm forever weeding it pulling the bulbs out. Mulch helps a little but a few days after rain up they come again. Its a battle I'll never be able to win.

If you go out every day or two and pull the green shoots, doesn't matter if the bulbs don't come out, the bulb will eventually die. But you have to keep the shoots down otherwise the bulb can photosynthesise.

I gradually got them out of my front garden going this way. Lawn however is a different story as they hide amongst the grass you want to keep.

@Cultured_Bogan GAZANIA - thrives anywhere from Brisbane to Canberra. Speads easily.

Well there you go. I thought the petals were a little wide, but otherwise looked pretty similar to the everlasting daisy.

Our own Bill Seale

@happy_tiger If you like daisies don't miss the African Daisy Oenothera (something like that). They survive on almost no water, don't mind our very alkaline bore water and get so many flowers you can hardly see the leaves. Available in punnets and landscape for less pots so cheap. The yellow isn't much good - gets leggy fast- but the white and pinks are brilliant.

Soory magpies, didn't see this.until now.

Mrs has a house in Palawan, we will eventually retire there... She'd like to grow them there...... Also these:

Watering of gardens can only be done via bucket or water can i think

Had a reasonable veggie garden going at my mothers-as of tomorrow they are on their own. Save the water for the Rock Orchids.
