Well spotted Knuckles….love the big boys who have a dig....really feel they represent me.....

How can u not love a big bloke that chases a half 80 metres?

Has a Daine Laurie feel about him in soneways. Maybe it's the hair had the kamikaze running??

But I too am a fan of his. Plenty of energy and impact off the bench.

I thought nofo looked bloody speedy on kelly too, rounded him up about 5metres too late.

Also Gavet was flying!!! thought it was taupau as it reminded me of his winning footrace with Dane bloody Gagai

He reminds me of Laurie too…but the big chase when a try was a sure thing...that separates.

Today we saw why we don't need BMM add Halatau and Sirro to come plus Nathan Brown and it's off to the tiger sharks for BMM… He just has failed to come on as expected .

This is what i want from the bench and the lack in general. Impact and aggression. I want teams to know they can't mess with us. We have had weakish, small benches for years. We is still very raw and looks lost in defence. However i love the way he runs. He looks like every run he wants to make count and that what i want to see more of from Tigers players.

Funnily enough James Gavet's younger brother Keni in the NYC match earlier ran someone down on the chase and he's a prop too.

I made mention of Gavet's chase in another thread. He was never going to catch Kelly but he kept at it. That spirit is inspirational. He make's a few mistakes but he'll do me as a bench player!

Looks like Taupau and Gavet have brought a healthy dose of aggression and enthusiasm. Exactly what a young side will need as they grow into a competitive NRL side.

Was a solid effort by him yesterday. The fact his brother did the same chase but caught the back and saved a certain try says something about this family. Give everything your all. It's only his 3rd game in the grade and like all new players will take some time to adapt, but the boy has guts, spirit and energy by the bucket load!

This was my first game watching him with commentary and had always thought his name was pronounced gavet, as in ga-vet, but they sued ga-vey as in a french sound. Is that really the correct pronunciation? Wouldn't have thought they'd be much French influence in NZ.

Needs to be used wisely, and by that I mean in short bursts. Last week he declined significantly after staying our there too long.

Gavet did great

But gotta admit, I was impressed by Paterson. After watching the replay on fox again, he was everywhere! When he dropped the ball, he chased the titans down from behind and forced a knock on…..that's commitment.

He could have just jogged back swearing but he didn't. He made a play to tackle the guy. Also his passes and hit ups....good to see the commitment

With the ball he is decent, looks like a promising young player.

Defensively though he has a lot of work to do (against the Dragons he was woeful), but that's to be expected somewhat.

In fairness, Kelly had been on the pitch all day while Gavet was sipping pina caladas in the shade, I wouldn't read too much into but he's got a bit of pace definitely.

Also, it's "The Gavenator".
