GET RID OF LUI

I like him but i think tim moltzen is our best pick at halfback. Lote at fullback and pritchard or something else on the left wing. That's just my thoughts

Are we watching the same game Lui was solid again today and I am really happy with his progress, Moltzen on the other hand was the reason we lost today at full strength he might even struggle to make the starting team the way he went today

I think Lui played well and I have no problems with him.

Moltzen though is an absolute gun who needs to be around the ruck. At fullback he can be there but he just doesn't seem to be a fullback. Given time he may be a gun there as well but personally I think you have to drop Lui in order to make way for Moltzen in the halves.

thats cause he's being played out of position

You are right, but Tim was very poor today,he won't run the ball back, and he can't catch,he needs to be 7,and we need a fullback who can catch and return the ball.
If this doesn't happen,we will struggle all year. 😢

Fitzy looked brilliant at the back compared to Moltzen so that says it all really.

Moltzen has been missing both games, fails to chime into the backline or support the ball runners until things appear to be done and dusted which is when he shows urgency.

Lui was solid today I thought before he came off, nearly scored and took the line on, his long kick was the only one that managed to find ground and put the roosters heavy in their own zone

Completely agree. He played possibly his worst game for us, but as soon as lui went off he stepped it up a gear. Lui's not bad in any way but at half i think moltzen is our best option. Just look back at last year when we won 6 in a row

I find it amazing how peoples opinion of Lui's games are such polar opposites. Same thing happened in the trials and last week. I suspect it is because some want Moltz at HB so think they have to rubbish Lui.

Have you actually watched those games? Also, Moltz was only at halfback for 4 and 1/2 games.

We killed the Sharks and Dogs with Moltz at FB during that period. We also beat the Roosters and Moltz played most of the game at FB (Gallant went off injured).

yes was at a few of them have you????

Whilst Lui hasnt been hopeless thus far, he is occupying a position that is keeping a gun out of the action.

Sheens wants Moltz to be a running fullback…anyone with even a quarter of a brain can see that he is not comfortable with this role. He is never, ever in position for attack or defense, he shows zero urgency, he submits in every tackle, he hardly ever puts his body on the line and is very suspect under the high ball.

He is a play maker and unfortunately Lui's presence in the side is weakening two positions.

Stryker I re-watched the games yesterday (apart from Cowboys and Raiders games). Even at 7 Moltzen was playing as a runner not a playmaker. I suggest you also go re-watch them.

i dont need to re-watch them mate I was at most of them and as you probably know you get a far superior impression of how a person is playing when you see them live.

Moltzens game is struggling due to Sheens repeated mistakes.

He runs the ball hard and sets up the play when in the halves, he runs the ball meekly and barely ever gets involved at the back.

I dont agree with that at all. In fact, I would say the opposite.

Your opinion….

For mine you can see how far out of his depth Tim is at the back. He is always out of position and if he does make it to the ball or a tackle, a lot of the time it is because he has sprinted his backside off to get there. His anticipation is really bad. You also get a better perspective of how he sets up his runners when in the front line.

Of course its my opinion. I do agree that you can probably see his positioning better at the game but I generally follow the ball when I am at games. I think the excitement of being at the game often detracts from the ability to analyse players. Thats my experience anyway.

Lets hope Tim is shifted to 7 and kills it. This is one time when I dont mind being proven wrong.

lui is a talent. problem is so are moltzen and marshall.
i love the way he places his kicks (there was 1 inparticular earlyi n the match).
i just dont know how we fit him in. it wont suprise me if moltzen is origin halfback by the way,

I think you're dreaming by the way. Moltz may be the answer at number 7 but he is a long way from Origin quality.
