Gibbs + Fafita = Blair?

Intersting that almost every Melb supporter on their forums said that the Adam Blair of 2011 was "no loss" and that he was poor for the past 18 months.

The Adam Blair of 2008 to 2010 was a 'huge loss'.

Looks like we've got the 2011 model and he may be on a career decline. Which will be a DISASTER if so as we have him for the next 4 years for huge coin.

Unless the 2008-2010 bloke comes back, we are in deep trouble.

The 2009 Blair was a GUN. World class.

That bloke hasn't been seen for a long time though. I read an interview with Bellamy where he basically felt like Blair was replaceable down there. That Bellamy felt that was was a worry.

4 years for $2 million is looking very dicey right now.

Every time anyone mentions how much of a nothing he is, someone comes back with the unquantifiable argument of "but he will bring professionalism to the team" or he is a great defender" or "he has a great wrestle".

Since he got here I havent seen any professionalism, I havent seen great defence and I havent seen a good wrestle. I wish the current problem was just Blair, but its not…

I think the big loss is not the signing of Blair, but the absence of Gibbs. He was part of the glue that made the tigers a team. His contribution was more than just physical.

I agree, but mind you, Gibbs has played 1 game for the Sharks so far this year

Gibbsy has played 1 game due to a hand injury.

You watch him come back after a month off though and do more work than Blair has done the past 3 weeks combined.

IMO Blair doesn't look fit at all. He's virtually non existent taking the ball up / doesn't do any of the hard yards.

35 yards tonight + 4 missed tackles + 0 line breaks. Those are extremely poor stats.

I can see that happening as well, just a bit hard to compare the 2 at this stage. Certainly Blair has not lived up to his price tag.

He looks bad and he looks like a real waste of money. I don't even think he deserves a starting spot based on form.

I said right from the start that alarm bells were ringing and I have no reason to change that view. Very disappointing tonight, as he has been in all the games thus far.

looks to be the biggest blunder in recent times. offload 2 front rowers for a yet to be firing and 'another' second rower.

Fifita=Run five metres sideways, push/palm defender away and run five metres sideways to original position, then repeat push/palm process. Repeat this until you make a nett gain of one metre. Have a poor attitude at training and require management off the field.

No thanks

Spot on Citizen Tiger!

I can't believe people here are upset he was let go. I really dont understand it for the life of me. He hasn't been at Cronulla for a year and he's already on the nose with his team mates and coaches because of his attitude. He wont last the season there.

When he gets released from Cronulla the fans will be praising Flanagan. Here, Tim gets lambasted. :brick:

Adam Blair is average at best I'd rather have fifita any day of the week not so much peanut gibbs I was glad to see him go we need skandalis to make another miraculous comeback

…no ones lambasting Tim, but to offload 2 front rowers for a second rower is lunacy. i dont give a rats of what these guys do at training, some of the best players at training are average on game day.

Gibbs has been our biggest loss, he would've tackled for 60 minutes at least last night and given us some go forward

I agree. Gibbs was a machine for us in previous years, not many props can last the first thirty in the NRL these days. He hasnt been getting a run for the sharks because there forwards are doing quite well atm, but Gallen can make any pack look good. I would love to have gibbs back, his presence around the team and ability to tackle untill his arms fall off is worth more than Blair…in fact it's PRICELESS!
