God?

I think there has to be something that created existence. But if anyone has seen the doco, zeitgeist, it raises some really interesting facts of how the bible was seemigly derived from the ancient sun worshiping religions.

I agree with most, would love just a bit of evidence that the bible is something to be taken seriously.

I've seen that Hammer…the similarities seem to be far more than mere coincidence.

I think you will find when researching a little bit there is a lot of proof that the bible is accurate.

i guess you would strongly disagree with the first post that i made in this thread, tiger sean?

Adman, don't get me wrong, I don't blame anyone or anything for what happened to Bailey. The only thing I curse is this retched disease that is cancer, that can affect anyone, whether they be religious or not, a smoker or non smoker, 100yrs old or 10days old.

I have a few great friends who are religious, and it's greatthey have something to believe in, the fact they don't try and convert me is a true attribute of theirs. On the other hand, there are people like a family relative who basically told my sis in law that "this wouldn't have happened if you visited the house of god"!! (no I am not bullsh!tting).

Well, that's rediculous. Noone should say that. I don't like people trying to recruit into a religion and I don't like fanatics. Just keep in mind the concepts religions try to deliver, rather than believing a magical wizard walked on water thousands of years ago. That's the important part, I think anyway.

Christianity is just a big lie started by Mary. She was seeing Joseph but went out one night, got smashed, ended up in some blokes bed and 9 months later Jesus was born. She didnt want anybody to know wjaf happened so she made up her story. " so this angel called Gabriel came to me and said that I have been chosen to give birth to the son of God"
From there it just got out of hand….

Jokes aside I do consider myself religious. I believe in God and in the Bible. I dont regularly attend Church but I pray and I have faith. I think though that no matter what religion a person adheres to we all worship the same God, its when we get to HOW to worship that problems occur.

Not another Moltzen thread

Seriously though without getting into it too much depending what you believe The reason God lets the things happen that do happen is to test your faith Very similiar to life really Something bad happens and you have a choice Curl up in the foetal position and curse everything around you or try and make your little bit of paradise (Home , family , work, friends) a better place .
Do I believe in God . Yes . But as Bono once said in a song " The God I believe in isn't short of cash Mister " I also believe in reincarnation . I think our souls have lived many times over and are trying to make us better people . I pray that the world can one day live in peace and all of us can learn to accept all others without prejudice

Q. What's the one thing Religion / God offers that no one else can?
A. Life after death.

People need to believe because they're scared of their immortality. Fear of death is the reason we have to deal with this nonsense.

i'm happy for everyone to believe what they want, its when ppl try and shove their beliefs down other ppl's throat is when it crosses the line.I remember when i was about 14 or 15 an old guy came to my door and started preaching to me and even was trying to get me to read passges out of his bible.Unfortanetly back then i was very shy and never spoke up for myself. If that were to happen today though id tell him to shove his bible up his ass

Well when you need to sell your religion door to door you have to ask some questions

For any religious people on this forum, answer me ONE question,
IF there is a god, and since he is almighty and all that yattah yattah, then why does he allow children (18 months old in the case of my nephew) to get a basically incureable disease such as cancer?

not religious at all, but most would say "It's because of the fall of man when Adam and Eve sinned"

Zeitgeist is not very reliable, I wouldn't be looking to it for information. When it get's into the whole conspiracy theory bit, it loses more credibility.

I believe beyond any shadow of a doubt.

Just like electricity and the wind I feel and can see its affects in almost every facet of my life.

I believe the Bible and that Jesus is the fulfilment of prophecy,

Jezz… Last week we buried a dear little 8 yr old my sons best mate.... FB Hamish the Brave.

Creation was cancer, rust and weed free - I am so grateful that my eternity was important enough for my God that he who is without sin became sin for me..... and for you.

ps - I am happy to respectfully discuss offline.

pss - I love Hillsongs music
