[ The bible is after all an historical Book. If people say they don't have a religion because they don't believe in god, i think are missing the point of religion entirely.IMO.
Adman, firstly, the bible is not a historical book. It is a re-telling of stories 100's of years after they happened. Do you sincerely believe that Jesus walked on water or that God parted the Red Sea? That man was damned forever because a snake told Adam and Eve to eat from a forbidden tree? That all of humanity was born from just these two people? like I said before it is a good yarn but you seriously can not believe these things actually occured can you.
apologies, in my mind I was referring to the bible referring to Jesus and his life specifically.I didn't consider the other stories you mentioned, and generalized to whole book, which is obviously a stupid error of mine. I think what I'm trying to say is that someone saw this person do these things and decided to write them down. In that regard, the bible is a historical book that documented the life of this and many other people, no
different then any other written text about any other historical figure in our history before the modern age of video recordings etc.if we disregard written text as just something some powerful man wrote because he could, then how accurate is any historical literature?
I don't really understand the rest of your post. But sure.
Cheers.
