Goodbye Benji! Goodbye Farah!

Benji was awesome,,,,4 try assists,,,

Farah played the way he has for 4 weeks….no problem there....

They have both lost it. Farah for the past 18 months, Benji for the last month. I reckon it is unacceptable for our two best players. Now in saying that I reckon Robbie nearly had it back together today and if he hadn't gone for that stupid play on the 5th I would have said he had a good game.

Benji seems lost - for a player who I thought was up there with the best 2-3 players in the game he is now playing like a complete dud.

I agree that they both cannot be sacked and I am now starting to think that Sheens simply has to go. Surely with our squad of players the coach can get a forward pack who can get some go forward and defend and then create a game plan to score some points with the likes of benji, Robbie, Lawrence & Tuqiri.

I don't know how many read this (it was posted in the aus v nz thread last week) this was Benji's performance in the test.

Watched Benji very closely last night and actually wrote down everything he did other than when he just caught and passed the following is exactly what i jotted down.

3rd min Benji kicks, Slater takes it on the full in the in goal, no pressure. Pathetic

24th min Benji on last tackle gets put under pressure kicks Slater takes it on full in goal no pressure.

26th min Benji knocks on off Cronk kick but ref calls play on (knock back) Benji beats a few in broken play then gets tackled and loses ball.

28th min Benji puts kick up, Slater takes it under posts no real pressure. Nothing kick.

54th min Nz get penalty in good field pos Gould mentions " Benji needs to come to life "

56th min Benji has his second run of the game puts in a chip kick inside his own half nz fail to regather and turn over ball.

61st min Benji puts up bomb slater takes it, basically all Benji has done is bomb and turn over possession.

64th min Benji tries to catch Cronk kick and knocks on under his own posts.

67th min Puts attacking chip kick in Hayne knocks on and Benji also knocks on regathering.

75th min Nz attacking line Benji drops ball( lucky not to be called knock) on play breaks down

79th min Benji throws cut out pass to Taia who turns it inside to Sau who scores.

This is a so called superstars performance captaining his country in a test match, the most experienced playmaker in the team playing in the halves with a 19yo on his debut. If any other half in any rep game plays like Benji did he probably never gets picked again.
Imo Foran outplayed Benji and Foran wasn't that flash.
I have watched Benji very closely for his whole career but never actually recorded his play like i did last night i just made mental notes, but reading this back floors me!!
The first thing i notice is his lack of involvement and the second his poor kicks/decisions and mistakes.
As i said at the top this is every play Benji was involved in bar when he simply caught and passed and even that was scarce.
Why is 75% of his game rubbish but people only ever remember the fancy stuff.

He's still just a touch player fooling everyone that he can play with the occasional good game and fancy pass.

Waiting for the Benji lovers to try and shoot me down, but how can you argue with the above observation of his game, how can you argue with the truth.

I didn't get a chance to do it today but i'd like someone who has recorded the game to do the same thing and post it on here. I know it will be painful to sit through again but i think the exercise will really open your eyes.
I honestly haven't seen one player let alone a so called superstar of the game directly and singly contribute to so many tries to the opposition. And the commentators/media don't even mention it.

Get over sacking fitzhenry!! Actually showed something today and he still gets questioned. Do some of you even watch the games?

Tiger your obviously a Benji hater. He was not terrible in the test match. Imo he was the best half on the field.

Now today he was poor and he has been poor for the last month for us but your comments are so far out of whack with reality I think you need to have a little rest.

Robbie wanted it now he has to suck it up and drag the team out of this he is the Captain.

Bingo. He can step down from it if he wants, but really after today he has to step up and be a leader out there as we had none today

I agree. Personally I'd like to see a better winger in the team and on the bench I think Fitzy is a waste but he put in today.

Cmon get serious…

I loved Fitzy's work especially when Sandow isolated him with the kick for whoevers try...

Fitzy stood there....get real

to me they did not even earn their petrol money to the game. Our forwrards had nothing and as blocker said if benji kicked the last goal he would have done something for the game.

There is nothing positive at all to be taken out of this game, apart from the fact it did not go on any longer.

actually,i think there is a huge positive to come out of this game..
The abject humiliation of a 50pt drubbing brings focus to a team that has been significantly underperforming for many seasons now,& finally people are starting to notice & are seeing past the coaching spin.
We're no longer under the radar,& the need for change at the top to move these two coaching total imposters out to pasture has become totally transparent to one & all surely

hopefully 8 weeks from now we will look back at this 50 pt shellacking as a turning point for the season not overly confident.all this benji and robbie talk is precise however good backs seldom look good with no go forward.the biggest worry now seems to be effort which is the biggest worry of all.

I prefered when Ayshford was desperatly trying to hold up Dave Taylor 1 meter out while Fitz had a decision to help make the tackle or mark his man. What did he do? He just stood there thinking about it.He just stood there!!!! Easy pass from Taylor to the winger saw a try.

He wasnt the only bad one out there today obviously, but he is always bad every week. One of the u20''s wingers please.

They tried there backsides off. However I wouldn't say they lead the team. We were a rabble. Leaderless, no idea and no answers

you are right ink, i can't back it up with hard empirical evidence aside from their actions on the field, such as:

- each week benji putting in stupid one-man chip and chase plays, or what ever low percentage play he does when it's not needed
- robbie diving for the line from 5m out in today's game with 5 defenders in front of him…

It just looks like these guys are playing for themselves only.

i am sick to death with robbie farahs personal quest for origin at all odds it has turned him into a selfish twat.

its ridiculous. :deadhorse:

Shake head in disgust, but what can you do when it happens week after week.

if wayne bennett was coach you wouldnt see this farah or marshall. you cant blame them. you must point the finger at the coach. im not angry with sheens anymore - i'm starting to feel sorry for him. he means well - but maybe we dont have it anymore.
