Regardless of the number on their backs and the increasingly similar roles of the modern prop and lock, Blair has basically played as a lock since Pottter was smart enough to change his role.

Sironens position is second row, and on that there should be no debate. His speed and power would be wasted amongst the pigs.

Playing Woods at lock is a ludicrous thought
The build, the footwork, the hands, the speed. None of this computes

Footwork? yea right, build. well under 6 foot. hands? ordinary. speed? alright.

Lock? f***ing amazing.

Paul Gallen is an exception to the rule because he plays like a prop and not a lock.
No other 13 in the comp plays like him. He also steals his forwards hit ups and allows players like Sam tagatese to get a start (with no work rate)

We have a number of candidates who can fulfill the role of 13 ahead of Woods.
Merrin has better footwork than Woods as he appears light on his feet. He also has an offload, albeit at times dodgy and overused.

I also think you have to leave Blair at 10, at the expense of Galloway probably.
While I feel Blair is a great candidate for 13, when he was in the back row he was not getting ANY ball. Playing prop gives us an athletic big guy in the middle who gets quick play the balls and commits to the wrestle in defence.

The difference between prop and lock these days is not much.

They defend in the same spot, and are both responsible for taking the ball up the middle. The main diffence is that in most cases the Prop takes his run first and makes a few more runs.

I think he could easily perform the role of lock, as could Sue, Blair and possibly Gavet.
