At the end of the day its a good effort. Imagine if we had one reserve grade side like other clubs. **Bret and the Pies combined** would be one hell of a side.

Theres been meetings about them uniting for next year, being the reason a few players from both sides have not signed yet for next year.. hope it will happen ,it would be an awesome side..

Please noooooooo! I hope the powers that be leave the ever suffering Magpies something of their own without the taint of amalgamation! :wink:

Floodgates have opened now unfortunately. It was a brave fight from Balmain but the Bulls have capitalised in the second half.

Just found this thread.

I have suspicions about the referee but the Bulls defence and Ben Barba were/are the best on field.

No one from BRET has impressed me.

Don't be too harsh on them. Most of our blokes work. Half the Bulldogs players are full time professionals.

They are clearly bigger and fitter.

true, they've come close 2 years in a row to getting to the "big day" but I'm afraid it doesn't take Einstein to realise that with the introduction of Melbourne to this comp from next year that we will (yawn) see a succession of Melbourne, Wentworthville, Bulls GF's….true people just wait & see (looking in crystal ball) :wink:

Very poor performance with the ball in hand.

We looked so dangerous but EVERYTIME we got into position someone would drop it or throw a forward pass..

Barba is more *"lucky"* than Hayne…

Bad luck BRET, had those passes in the first half stuck it might have been a different game. They'll be a better side next year hopefully.

Very frustrating game. The Tigers should have been right in it at the end but let themselves down badly. The dominance they showed in the first half needed to be shown on the scoreboard. Meaney dropping the ball with the line wide open was crucial. A few times we had them beat and Lewis' pass would either go over the sideline or just behind the ball reciever causing the play to lose momentum. A tragic first half when u consider we were the better team.

The 2nd half saw the Bulls lift their intensity and they started to dominate the ruck. This is where i was looking for Shirnack and Mataka to assert some mongrel, it didnt happen. Gower looked to be a lone soldier out there. Josh Lewis' game went from hot and cold to just cold. Its a shame because the guy has the talent, but i doubt he'll ever be a regular first grader.

Great effort by BRET to get to the Grand Final and all involved should be very proud.

Good effort today from Gower, Ryan, Carr, and Farlow. Bennett tried hard also.

under 20s is just as brain dead dumb as the first grade side drop the ball after scoring penalties on the 5th tackle.. trys before halftime… the future is the same

Geo and Willow im not prepared to write Roqica off just yet. To me he showed better speed than i thought he would and with the right training in the off season i can see him gaining a yard or two of pace. His speed off the mark looks ok, and his ability to turn is good enough. Some quality sprint and explosive training will do him the world of good.

Mataka did well too good in D and some good charges.....Gower and Farlow the best for mine....
