Grant confident Elijah Taylor will shine

I see they have added ET to the Wests Tigers player profiles.

They have him at 184cm and 101 kgs…..that seems about right to me.

Size isn't everything, and hopefully Taylor can play above his weight in the NRL. He hasn't been tested of late but I did think he was bigger than our current back row options. Another small backrower isn't ideal but if he can free up Sue to play prop we're probably better for it.

Ive been thinking the same thing.

Im usually a good judge.

He def doesnt look 190cm….i would have thought about 183 ish and late 90's kgs which is a huge difference in both height and weight he is listed as.

Yeah he looked along those lines to me on the TV last weekend. Will have to watch him live for a proper assessment!

Please never ever play ET at hooker, they did that with him at the Warriors for 3 weeks and it was a disaster, threw about 15 forward passes in one game from memory

Play him up at lock and let him tackle non stop as he is a very good defensive player

Good, solid signing. That guy can tackle all day and night. His attack is "so so - not much" but thats ok as we have plenty of backs to score us points.

And the one area that has really let us down over the years - DEFENSE.

Don't know why Anthony Griffin didn't like him, but IMO its their loss and our gain.

ET is probably the best signing we have made in the last 3-4 years imho.

Brilliant defensive player and can do some good things in attack as well.

Doesn't matter what size the stats say - he is what he is and that is an International.

Why you would want to play him at hooker for the first twenty minutes has me gobsmacked. You need someone to knock those big B's down, when they are trying to run down the middle of the ruck. Next year if all goes well - we have Ballin at hooker and he is an 80 minute player as well and as good a defensive player as Farah. I say you would leave ET at lock and let him do his thing. That will leave Sue to fill the last place in our quadastic props (Woods, Grant, Ava and Sue) for 2017 (or earlier if that is the plan). All looking good to me.

Russell u just contradicted yourself or answered your own question by saying "why would u play Taylor at hooker for 20 minutes has me gobsmacked. You need someone to knock those big boys down"….well dont hookers defend in the middle tackling the big boys? Combined with having a rock like Sue start at lock its actually the best formula to knock "those big B's down".

Im not saying its what i would do or we should do. Im saying its a possibility because we know Taylor likes to bring a fresh body on at 9, so i wouldnt be surprised if he takes this tact.

They have a mountain of back row talent WTD and I suppose it then comes down to what suits the side best

Got to give Griffin his dues , he certainly gets rid of people he doesn't want around asap

Maybe I did answer my own question KS but I just think if Ballin is comfortable playing 80 minutes and we can have ET there as well (both of them knocking the big B's down) - (Sue solving the fourth prop problem) we would be laughing.

Understand that you were thinking in type and not saying it was what you wanted.
We also need Cherrington getting some experience with 20 minutes game time next year for Ballin OR if he is going, Jacob Liddle getting the 20 minutes.

Not sure what happens if Farah plays on for WT - Our position seems to be at least getting healthier.

do you guys really see a guy whos been in reserve grade with no attacking game making that much difference to our team?? why not just keep useing curtis he does the same job ??

If you couldn't see the difference you're a poor judge. Was one of our best and only been with the club 5 days.

that tackle on kasiano cone on one close to the line is what weve been lacking. He hasnt been around long enough to get our attacking structures even though my sons under 6 team has mire structure.Played well though
